I opened my eyes and see that I am in the back seat of a car. There is a man driving and a women in the passenger seat. It was my parents. I smiled while looking at their faces. They both looked so happy. I was beyond happy to see them.

"Mom, Dad" I called to them, but they didn't answer.

"Guys its me, Alaina" I attempt to get their attention again, but fail.

I looked out the windshield and saw another car coming toward us from the other lane.

"Mom, Dad!" I screamed, but it was no use.

I closed my eyes and prepared for impact. The car collides with us. I opened my eyes and saw that everything was moving in slow motion. Glass flying through the air, my mom's head hitting the windshield, and my dad's body being ejected from the car.

"Alaina, Alaina wake up!" I heard a familiar voice call to me.

"Come on Alaina, wake up!" the voice shouted again.

Suddenly, a bright light shines through what was left of my window and I squinted from how bright it was.

My eyes jolt open and I sit up quickly in my hammock. Breathing heavily, I look over and see Pan standing over me.

"You're awake, good" he says with a smirk.

"I'm sorry I was umm" I start, but I can't finish because I I'm still shook up.

"You were having a nightmare weren't you?" he asks, kneeling so he was eye level with me.

"Yeah, I was" I hardly whisper.

"Its alright, its over now" he assures, briefly placing his hand on mine, then taking it away.

He stands back up and offers me his hand "Come on, you look like you could use some breakfast."

Pan and I arrive at the camp for breakfast. Some of the lost boys got up early and picked various fruits for everyone to eat. Apples, bananas, barriers and lots more. I sit under a tree and quietly eat my banana. I watch as the other lost boys joke around and are practically playing with their food.

"Eating alone I see" a familiar voice says. I look up and see Pan towering over me.

He sits down next to me under the tree and looks at me.

"Your not gonna eat anything?" I ask with a mouth full of food.

He chuckles at my attempt to speak with my mouth full "no, I'm not really hungry."

I shrug my shoulders and turn my attention back to the lost boys.

"Your still thinking about it aren't you?" he suddenly blurts out.

I swallowed the food in my mouth before responding. "Thinking about what?"

"That nightmare you had" he clarifies.

"Kind of" I say, quietly, starring down at my banana. "It was a pretty vivid one."

"Do you mind talking about it?" he asks, not taking his eyes off me. He swings his body so he's facing me completely.

"I guess I could" I say, slightly sitting up. "Its the same nightmare I've been having for a while now. Its a repeat of the day my parents died. But, the thing is, every time I try to talk to them or get their attention, they don't hear me. Then we get into the accident then I wake up."

"I see, your parents died in an automobile accident and you feel like you never got the chance to say goodbye" he says, looking deep in my eyes.

Its like he's looking into my soul. How did he figure that all out? I can't help but stare at him with my mouth slightly open.

"Did you forget what I told you?" he laughs a little while scrunching up his nose. "My shadow has been watching you since you were small, I know so much more than you think I do."

"You're right I forgot about that" I suddenly remember, laughing myself. I wonder what else he knows about me and my life.

"You know Alaina, I know of a spell that can help those nightmares go away" he says, raising his eyebrows suggestively.

"Thank you Pan, but that wont be necessary" I denied as I stand up to dispose of my banana peel.

He stands up with me and follows me.

"Why not?" he asks with obvious curiosity in his voice.

"Because as horrible as the nightmares are, its the only place were I can see my parents" I explain to him with a slight smile.

"I understand" he says, showing me a warm smile "Now I want you to go back to your tree house and get your crossbow."

"Why? what are we doing today?" I shout excitedly, practically jumping up and down like a kid in a candy store.

He laughs at my expression, making his nose scrunch up again. He looks so adorable.

"We're gonna do something Alaina, I call it target practice."
