"I'm commonly missjudged by my size, I may be small, but I'm strong." Raven began seriously, "Any cat with a plan is two steps behind me", he flexed his claws before he continued, "I've seen things , I lived in the city , I fought, and I survived. Everyday was a fight, I may only be eight moons old, but I will give two times of what you ask of me." He glanced at the shecat as he finished, then back at Willowstar, who returned his piercing gaze. "I like this cat.Silvermist, what are your thoughts?", she turned to face the silver shecat. "He would be a strong addition to RiverClan.", Silvermist said with a glint in her eye as she turned to face her leader. WillowStar smirked in reply, "Very well" ,she said, narrowing her eyes. Raven gave them a questioning glance, but had no reply. WillowStar rose and stretched before padding to the exit of the den, flicking her tail for him to follow. He followed her obediently as she climbed along the top of the tree trunk. When they reached the top, WillowStar called out strongly " Cats of RiverClan! Gather below the high tree for a clan meeting!" as her voice echoed across the island, cats appeared from dens looking up with curious eyes. Raven flexed his claws nervously as she continued, " This cat, by the name of Raven, has requested to join our clan. Silvermist has agreed with me to allow this, but its not just up to us, RiverClan, what are your thoughts?!", WillowStars question arose a chorous of angry mews. Before it got too out of paw, " SILENCE! That is enough! This cat has earned his chance to join RiverClan , and he will, if any of you disagree, speak now" WillowStar narrowed her yellow eyes. Before she contined,a young gray tom with long fur stood, "WillowStar, he must prove himself worthy." WillowStar nodded, " Very well,Ashpelt". She bekoned Raven to go to the clearing. He obeyed and eyed Ashpelt.I know how this works, I have to fight this cat. Raven looked over his challenger, no obvious injuries or weaknesses.This isn't the city, this is much different.I have to fight like a city cat to win.Ashpelt is more than likely stronger and wiser-before he finished his thought Ashpelt had swiped his claws on Raven's muzzle, the shock stung him, but angered him. Cheap move. Swiftly, he ran by Ashpelt's flank and nipped at his hind paw then jumped over to his other side and shoved Ashpelt to the ground and pinned him down. Ashpelt soon bucked him off and swiped his paw at Raven, catching his ear. Then Ashpelt prepared to jump, as he did so, Raven jumped lower and twisted in the air, hooking his claws on Ashpelt's underbelly, then throwing him to the ground. Ashpelt coughed in the cloud of dust created by his body slamming to the ground. Before Ashpelt recovered Raven jumped on the tom and began slashing at his face strongly. With a final blow, Raven leaned in to finish him. As he did that, WillowStar gave a commanding shout, " STOP! That will be enough Raven, you have proven yourself worthy and a strong fighter." she meowed approvingly, then turned to a battered and bleeding Ashpelt, "It was unwise of you to challenge this cat, it should have been done by a more experienced warrior, now go see Shimmerpool." she told him. Raven shook himself free of the dust and looked up at WillowStar , not knowing what to do next. " Raven, come forward" she mewed. When he did so, WillowStar continued, "You will become an apprentice,Raven, from this moment on, you will be known as Ravenpaw" She paused to glance around," SwiftRain, you have shown yourself caring and fierce in battle, do your best to pass your skills down to this young cat" SwiftRain then lowered his head to touch noses with Ravenpaw. The clan then began chanting his new name and mewed their congradulations. Wildstar then dissmissed the clan. Ravenpaw looked at his new mentor,"what now?" he thought to himself. Swiftrain flicked his ear, " You should eat and go rest, we will begin training tomorrow." he waved his tail to a pile of fish. " That is the fresh kill pile, before you take from it, go make sure the elders are fed" he mewed kindly. "Where's that?", Ravenpaw mewed. " Oh, the elder's den is over there", he said, nodding his head towards a few boulders forming a cave."Okay, thanks", Ravenpaw murmured as he watched his mentor go to join his fellow warriors.
