Ravenpaws eyes went wide and his fur stood on end. Something about that shriek sent shivers down his spine. He covered his ears and eyes with his paws , whispering, " no...n-no n-n-no". He curled into a ball , shaking as a memory flashed through his mind.
Raven peered his head out of a garbage bin with a chicken leg in his jaws. "Mother!" he called."I found something we can share." With no reply he started heading for the street, he stopped suddenly when he heard a racket coming from an alley away. Curious, he followed the racket.As he neared the alley he slowed his pace. He peered down the alley and found three cats, no, four! One being his mother, backed up defensively into a corner. "Raven, RUN!" she ordered as she spotted him. Raven couldn't run, he just stood there like an idiot as if the Leaf-bare chill had froze his paws to the pavement. His vision blurred with tears as the annonymous cats started swiping at his mother. "Stop!", he shrieked. They took no notice to him and proceeded to attack his mother. The biggest of the three cats then leaped for her throat. He saw a splash of blood and heard the rip of flesh, " NOOOO", He cried. He pelted towards his mothers lifeless body. Her green eyes in an eternal and blank stare at the sky. He buried his face into her black fur, tears streaming down his eyes. Behind him, Raven heard a low growl. As he lifted his head , he felt his paws leave the ground. The world whirled around him , his tail screaming in pain. The agonizing pain doubled as his attacker tightened his grip and shook him harder. As his tail ripped from his body, he slammed into a brick wall. All he could see was black for a second, then without even thinking, he took off running, never looking back, he ran.
Ravenpaw then jolted back into the present. His friends staring at him, concerned. Before one of them could ask a large cat bowled over him." You", Ravenpaw said, narrowing his eyes. The large cat powefully swiped at his muzzle, sending Ravenpaw flying backwards and specks of blood flying. He yowled in pain. He lept back before the cat swiped him again. He saw a blur of black and Specklepaw leaping effortlessly onto the cat, clawing and biting him. Behind the cat, he saw Darkpaw's jaws clamped on the cat's tail. No matter how hard the cat tried, he could not shake them off. Seeing the chance, Ravenpaw pelted towards him and sunk his teeth into his throat. The cat struggled to shake them off, but when he did, he retreated to cross the stream, "Hopefully he'll go back to the city." Ravenpaw thought. Clearly outnumbered, the rest of the city cats scrambled after him.
"Hey what happed to you before um... that cat attacked us?" Darkpaw asked. He stared back at her blankly, "Oh , it was nothing", he lied.
