It's a magnificent place though. In the center of Dakarai, I found myself a nice loft in some upscale building. This building has great security, a doorman, and a reception desk. Why? I have no idea. But it's awesome. I'm glad I got a fifteenth floor view, because the higher the better right? That's where all the nice places are. The top floors.
My new apartment's outer walls are floor to ceiling, one way windows, that give a panoramic view of the city. I can see everyone and no one can see me. This really gives an open feel of the house, and that's good because I absolutely hate confined spaces.
Teddy will love the new bed. It's huge! And comfy too. I forgot the brand, but I'm pretty sure it's the tempur-cloud. Soft, yet firm at the same time. I love when the bed can mold to fit my body, because that makes it the most comfortable for me. Did I forget to mention that it has every gadget and modern equipment necessary (and unnecessary) for anything even resembling a home? Yup, not too shabby.
Today is the first day, of seven days before Eli comes back. I had my day of crying, so Operation Move On is officially in motion. That means getting rid of all his memories and not even mentioning his name. Its name.
I'm glad I'm going to Dakarai, because it's a big city. Everyone's anonymous there. There, you can be invisible. He'll easily-it'll easily find me someone like here, in such a friendly neighborhood.
Life in the country of Applonia is seemingly perfect. It is. Everyone is supportive and we all work hard for what we have. We even help one another when we're struggling. That doesn't mean we can't keep our anonymity. Everyone's an unknown here until they're engaged. That's what I'm aiming for. Eli's very known. I mean, it's very known.
What's it Tay?
I don't know Tay, you know I have an active imagination.
Yeah, that's it.
It doesn't even exist.
What doesn't exist?
I don't know, that's why it doesn't exist.
Makes sense.
I'll be long gone when whatever it is comes into existence anyway.
So back to this house...
I need to order a truck.
Teddy can sit in the front seat with me. I'll even strap him in a seat belt so he doesn't hurt himself on the dashboard if I stop too hard. Where are you phone?
I went all about looking for my phone. After about twenty minutes, I finally found it. After all this time, how can you be dead? So unreliable. Okay, just charge it and watch some TV.
Two Minutes Later
There's absolutely nothing on TV. Nothing. Okay. So...
I have a laptop. There's gotta be something good on there. There's stuff all over the internet. As soon as I open my browser, I immediately regret it. Eli and Cecilia are in a picture, front and center...
Right there
Smiling at each other being the happiest couple ever. Standing right in front of a jewelry store. I thought he didn't know her? They went to New York just to be together? Was there even anything important that he really had to do? How come I didn't see any of this coming? I'm not usually so blindsided. Wow. I guess my ability isn't sight at all. Is this Goddess playing on a trick on me? The things I was so sure about before seem to all be wrong. Is it defective? I'm kind of glad I didn't do training to be an Elder, because they would've been sorely disappointed. A direct Abdu descendant having defective abilities. That'd be bigger than any news of engagements.
