I felt all of the contempt Eli felt for her, and I knew he was being completely honest with me this entire time. And I felt like crap. That bond was still there though, but he didn't feel it, which was weird. He held no attraction to her. And it just made me want him more, because I wanted to mark him as mine. I want her to be able to smell me on him when they meet tomorrow.
He disconnected me from his brain. I was left staring into chocolate brown orbs.
"I want to end this whole farce before we do anything else. I'd do it today, but the Courthouses aren't open until tomorrow. Can I stay the night? I've got a feeling your guest rooms are beyond comfortable."
My face fell. "But I want to feel close to you. Eli."
"But I don't trust myself in bed with you, let alone the same room," he argued. "Let me sleep in the guest room."
"Well it's not like you're asking for my opinion," I stated sourly. "Why not?" I sent him a wry smile.
We both know I'm completely against the idea. But this is the compromise. I won't let him leave my house. Not after the half week I'd been through. I'd have begged him to stay the night anyway.
He smiled at me and carried me into his favorite room. The kitchen, as he ate about five more shells, and fed me one. We got some of my homemade lemonade and carried the cookies into the front room. We laid down on the couch, facing one another, with his hand wrapped around my waist as I fed him more cookies. We just sat looking at each other in silence, staring in each other's faces.
This is what content feels like.

Author's Note:
Short Chapter, but there's nothing that can make this better in my opinion, so I'll just leave it here. The chapters after these may or may not be shorter than the recent chapters.
I like to keep it around 2,000 words because I actually want to give you guys something to read, instead of just a few words, then the chapter's over. Be sure to tell me if the chapters are too long.
I type the chapters on my laptop, so sometimes, I don't realize just how long they are. I try to go back and edit, to break up the extra long ones and also spelling errors. I hate spelling errors. I really do. Even on other people's stories. I really stop reading them because they're a pet peeve, so if you see some, be sure to tell me. I'll fix it.
And if my story's progressing a little too fast and seems a little too unrealistic, please tell me. I tend to do my research on topics I don't know too much about, but if the info isn't accurate enough, be sure to tell me.
I'm kind of a nerd in almost all subjects, so I kind of know facts about a little bit of everything. I'm not God, so things won't be perfect, but I'm open to correction and criticism. Just as long as you're not bitter AF on my story for no reason. If you don't like my characters, that's fine.
What do you think so far?
Do you think they should forget everything and continue on in their relationship?
What about Cecilia?
Will this story have a cliche happy ending or nah?
This is a first in series, so real question,
Do you think all of them will end up like this?
