"good news!"

"what? you finally got a life?"

haeryeong frowned. "don't be the mood killer, jeno. besides, i never even got a life."

"wasn't directed to you, anyways." jeno shifted his gaze from haeryeong to jaemin, anticipating what he was going to say. "continue, jae."

jaemin had a little pout and a faraway gaze on his face, which seemed like he was thinking of a response to what jeno said. haeryeong mentally groaned and shot jeno a glare, and then clapped in front of jaemin's face to bring him back to reality. he blinked a few times and broke out into a wide smile, facing both of his bestfriends.

"wait, why are we gathered here again? is something up?" confusion took over him in just a matter of seconds. jeno snickered while haeryeong groaned, this time not mentally. "you were about to tell us good news, nana. until someone interrupted you." she exaggerated the word someone and glanced at a particular person while doing so, the smug smile never leaving the person's face.

"ah, right!" jaemin snapped his fingers and smiled happily. haeryeong and jeno both looked at him in wonder. "me and haru are going out on a date! said she was sorry and all, and she's gonna treat me pancakes. amazing, right?"

"aw, that's amazing!" though haeryeong was still a bit suspicious of haru, she was genuinely happy for jaemin. he had been gloomy these past few days, despite the sunny weather. haeryeong wrapped her arms around jaemin and squeezed him lightly, earning herself a laugh from him. the slight smile on jeno's face didn't go unnoticed, and he fist-bumped jaemin saying, "that's nice, have fun on your date."

"when is the date, though?" haeryeong questioned after she let go of jaemin. "this saturday, 2pm sharp. casual attire. that one cozy cafe in that one mall down the street." jaemin answered robotically, as if he memorized all the informations already. (which seemed like he did.)

"wasn't that a bit.. too.. specific?" jeno laughed nervously and stood up to pat jaemin on the back. "thanks for the information, anyways. what're you going to wear to the date?"

"that's what i need help with." jaemin whined. jeno flashed a look that said CODE RED, CODE RED! to haeryeong before turning to look at jaemin again. he let out another anxious laugh, his gaze slowly lowering to the floor. "uh, sure.. we'll totally help you.. that's what bestfriends do anyway, right..?"

"ryeong, get off my bed. you came here to help me out with my outfit for my date, not to sleep on my bed."

"heh? you got a date?" haeryeong muttered groggily, rolling over so that she was laying on her stomach. it was great, laying on jaemin's bed. it was practically her home whenever haeryeong went over to jaemin's house. jeno huffed, also wanting to lay on the bed, but he resisted the urge to. he then grabbed a random red flannel from jaemin's closet and shoved it to him. "this one seems nice."

"yeah, that one seems nice." haeryeong mumbled and yawned afterwards. jaemin glanced at her. he didn't even bother listening to what she said as her face was buried into his pillow. "but isn't this too formal?" jaemin studied the flannel, a look of doubt set on his face. jeno sighed inwardly.

"listen, jae.. it's just a date. don't overthink about your attire – it's the time spent together that counts."

"deep." haeryeong said, now laying on her back. "but yeah, i agree. just wear whatever that you feel comfortable in, nana." she let out an obnoxious yawn and hugged jaemin's bolster, which made him rub his temples.

"you guys are right. why haven't you said that before?" right. jeno thought. why haven't we said that before? "i'll just leave this behind us. but now that you both are here, let's watch some movies together!" jaemin skipped off to grab his laptop. jeno sighed out in relief and laid himself on jaemin's bed, a few distance away from haeryeong. she was already snoring softly. jeno smiled fondly and sat up when jaemin reappeared with his laptop in his arms.

"wake ryeong up, i'm gonna put on a random movie for us." jaemin said, squeezing himself in-between haeryeong and jeno. he had tried to take his bolster back but haeryeong's grip on it was too strong. jaemin gazed longingly at his bolster and turned away, crossing his arms across his chest childishly.

"since you're right beside her.." jeno started. "why not you wake her up yourself..?"

good point. jaemin shook haeryeong lightly in attempt to wake her up. "ryeong-ah, wake up.." which made her grunt. her eyes slowly fluttered open and her eyes stayed on the ceiling for a few seconds. silence.

and then she widened her eyes. "where the hell am i – "

"my house, ryeong." jaemin sighed while jeno snickered. "this isn't the first time this happened, you know."

"ah, right." haeryeong mumbled and sat up, her shoulder close to jaemin's. "are we gonna watch a movie? which?"

"any movie is fine with me." jeno spoke up from jaemin's other side, haeryeong nodding in agreement. they both waited as jaemin turned his laptop on and put on a random movie. haeryeong wasn't sure which movie was it since she was already on the verge of falling asleep. her eyes stayed on the screen, occasionally drooping. meanwhile, jaemin and jeno were too immersed in the movie.

"out of everything.. a chinese movie, jae." jeno muttered, but still watching the movie intently. "it has korean subtitles! and it's luhan!" jaemin shot back. he wasn't aware of haeryeong leaning her head onto his shoulder, already fast asleep.

almost an hour later, the trio ended up falling asleep with the movie still playing on the laptop. haeryeong and jeno both were leaning their heads on jaemin's shoulder, who's head dropped slightly. soft snores came from the three of them. jaemin's mother had knocked on the door to ask if the kids wanted snacks or not, but got no response which led her to opening the door. she was greeted by the sight of them sleeping. jaemin's mother smiled fondly and snapped a quick picture of them before leaving the room, making sure to shut the door quietly on her way out.
