“i can't believe the reason why you've been on your phone so much was because you were looking for a pet shop to visit.”

the evening was spent with jaemin dragging haeryeong and jeno to a pet shop and into a special corner where little kittens and puppies were displayed. jaemin almost jumped over the fence set to keep the kittens and puppies n until jeno and haeryeong yelled in panic and pulled him back, resulting him to hold at the bars sadly while longing to hold the cute animals.

“that one really looks like bongsik,” jeno points at a cat with spots on his body. haeryeong squinted and nodded, it does resemble jeno’s cat called bongsik in a way. jaemin couldn't hear them as he was too focused on staring at the puppies. he had started naming them all internally, “that one would be donghyuck because it's trying to pick a fight with the other puppy. that one would be named chenle because it looks like a puppy he would want to adopt. that one who's sleeping and just flinched in his sleep OH MY GOD THAT WAS SO CUTE would be jisung. that other one would be haeryeong. man, all these puppies are so cute.” to passerbys, he looked like a kid who wanted to get a new pet but his parents disagreed, so then he was just staring at the animals with a depressed look.

“oh my god jeno did you just see that? that cat tried to scratch the other!” haeryeong exclaimed right after jeno hears a fierce mewl from one of the cat's cages, which had haeryeong doubling over laughing. he neared the cage in hopes to stop the little cat fight (literally) that was happening, but instantly backed away when the cat with pretty eyes hissed at him and displayed its sharp nails.

“zoowee mama,” jeno raised his hands nervously and began sweating, “was just checking. nothing big. i'll pretend i didn't see anything.”

haeryeong was still laughing. jeno sighed as he stared at the floor. “it felt like i was watching a fight between two girls, except cat version.”

“i don't really know what that meant, but i'm offended.” haeryeong had stopped laughing and she had her hand stretched out into one of the cages, stroking a cat's fur. “plus, why are you here anyway? you're allergic to cats, go to the puppies section. jaemin looks lonely.”

jaemin was indeed lonely. he had been sitting in the same spot for five minutes or so now. they wondered if his legs were cramping or not.

“both the word lonely and the name jaemin has the letter e in it. coincidence? i think not.” jeno said but made his way to his lonely bestfriend anyway, because the cat's fur made his nose itchy. he squatted beside jaemin and stared at the puppies that were either playing around or sleeping. jeno had almost melted.

“i want that one,” jaemin whispered and pointed to a puppy with brown fur, wandering around aimlessly. jaemin squealed and squeezed jeno's arms. “oh my god, it's so cute. it's so cute. i'm gonna name it yuzu. jeno, it's so cute!”

jeno knew, and jeno's biceps were hurting. he smiled through the pain.

“get it, then?”

jaemin got it.

jeno didn't even know how it went but they were now walking towards the park with jaemin bringing his puppy named yuzu on a leash, who seemed ecstatic to be outside and obeyed orders. jaemin was so in love with the puppy that it reminded jeno of a couple, sickly in love and head over heels for each other. haeryeong was the one who kept a distance between herself and yuzu, afraid that she'll bite her.

“yuzu, what a wonderful day! it had been a great day, but it became wonderful once god had blessed me with you.” jaemin stared at yuzu lovingly and let out a high-pitched “mmmhm” in delight and continued his walk, sighing delightedly. jeno had suspicions that jaemin had forgotten he was also walking with him and haeryeong since he was spoiling yuzu with so much attention.

“why yuzu out of every names, though?” haeryeong mumbled to herself, but loud enough for them to hear. jaemin cleared his throat.

“because yuzu is cute!”

“yeah, but..” haeryeong stared at yuzu. “isn't a name like hina cuter? shoko? mitsuha? mob?”

“she's just been obsessed with that mob party 100 manga,” jeno whispered to jaemin. apparently, it hadn't been silent enough for haeryeong to not catch him but he knew he was screwed when he heard a loud offended gasp from her.

“mob party 100? are you serious? are you telling me that the precious shigeo is partying with the spirits instead of making them disappear? is it mob psycho or mob party? oh dear, why do i feel like i'm having an identity crisis?” haeryeong held her head and widened her eyes, looking like she had just been traumatized. jeno forced a smile while jaemin was trying to teach yuzu some tricks.

“i don't know about you but yuzu is the cutest, sooo.” jaemin held his hand up and grinned widely. “jump, yuzu! she's a girl, by the way. i don't want to name her after some mop who parties with 100 spirits.”

“nana, you did not.” haeryeong's eyes were wider than before (oh my god, jeno braced himself for her upcoming anime rant) and she clenched her fist. “it's mob psycho 100! kageyama shigeo is a precious innocent fourteen year old who just happened to have some psychic powers, i can't believe i have friends like you all.”

“where would you be without us, though?” jeno shrugged his shoulders and suppressed a huge smile. in the background, jaemin was saying commands to yuzu “jump! that's it, you go my baby!”. jeno blocked it out as he stared at the sky, letting out a sigh.

it's been almost ten years, and they were still going strong. (plus yuzu, even though it's been only an hour with her.)

mob party is actually something i said haha *sweats* my friends love animes and i was the only kpop fan amongst them please don't blame me

but y'all should watch mob PSYCHO 100, the animation is the same as one punch man's and MOB IS SO CUTE AAAAA saitama is also very funny

and!! i watched silent voice yesterday it was really good, i cried multiple times (but my friends doesn't have to know that)
