Every Road Leads to Somewhere

Chapter One

  My name is Natalia Rose. I come from an abusive family. My father left when I was only three. My mother was just broke after that. She took on drinking and drugs. She eventually remarried when I was eight. I didn't like the man she chose. He wasn't nice to me at all. My mother didn't know that. He would beat me, especially when he was drunk. He came home drunk quite a bit. I don't know why my mother didn't leave him. But tomorrow I'm leaving the past behind me
   Tomorrow I am going to be graduating high school. I was excited because this was the first step in my plan. My plan was that the second I graduate I'm going straight home, packing my stuff, and leaving. I didn't know where but all I knew was that I couldn't handle my parents anymore.
   "Hi! Can you believe we are graduating tomorrow?" Asked Emilia excitedly. Emilia is my best friend and had been since first grade. We do everything together, including graduating.
   "No, I'm just excited that I get to leave my parent behind and start a better life," I replied.
   I have no other choice. I can't deal with it anymore. I have to leave. Of course I was saddened about leaving all my friends behind especially my boyfriend, Aiden. Everyone called us "relationship goals." He was the love of my life and I was sure we were soulmates. Now after today, I'm not sure I'll ever see him again.

   "Boo!" Aiden scared me at my locker.
   "EEK!" I squealed. "I can't believe I don't get used to that since you do it everyday." I made a pouty face.
   Aiden chuckled, "I guess you gots get used to my shenanigans."
"So not funny." I punched him in the arm lightly. "Are you ready to graduate soon?"
"Of course I am. I'm just not ready for you to leave."
"I keep telling you that I have no choice." Obviously I wasn't happy about leaving him. I just had to start a new life. If we were really soulmates, we would find each other again.
   "Let me come with you," pleaded Aiden.
    "I can't do that, you, not to mention your parents, want you to go to college. I can't keep that from you." I closed my locker and walked away leaving Aiden standing there.

This is my first story, I hope you like the first chapter. The chapters will also get longer. It will get going more soon. A new chapter will be out either later today or tomorrow. Thanks for reading!!
