Every Road Leads to Somewhere

Chapter 8

You mat think that I'm over reacting but he was drop dead gorgeous.

"Earth to Natalia," Joe said. 

"Oh! Hi, my name is Natalia," I said trying to cover up.

"I'm Jack and my brother Conor. Where ever he went." Jack chuckled. I don't want to seem like a stalker so I laughed along. Deep down I couldn't help but think about how his laugh was perfection. 

"I um. I'm going to head out for a little bit. Ya know, give you guys space. Explore a little bit."

So I started out. I didn't really know where to go. I took out my phone and like any other tourist would do, I googled it. 

The first place I decided to go was Big Ben. I have always wanted to see it since I was a kid. I took an uber and off I went.

When I got there I stood and marveled at it. It was even better in person. Now, you may think I'm over reacting but you don't understand! I have imagined this moment since I was in 5th grade. 

"I see that you aren't from London," I hear a voice say.

"No, I have always wanted to come here."

"Hmm." He says. "I come hear when I need to get some time alone and chill."

"Mmmm..." I said still lost in thought.

"Hey, um do you maybe wanna go get some drinks together?"

"Sure. Where do you want to go?" 

"I have a good place in mind," He said.

"Oh! I don't even have your name. I'm Natalia. You?"

"I'm Alex. What do ya say? Wanna come with me?"

"Of course," I say.

We pull up at a cute little place. We got out of the car and walked in. The second I stepped through the door, I could tell it was such a cheery environment. 

"Wow, this place looks so cozy," I remarked. 

"Yeah, I go here all the time. It's my favorite restaurant," Alex says.

We get a table by the window and sit down. The waitress comes over and asks what we would like to drink. I look down at the menu. 

"I would like a latte please," I said.

"I'll have the same, please," Alex responded with. "So, what brings you to London."

"It's kind of a long story...." I said sheepishly.

"We have time," He said practically looking into my soul. Like you don't understand. Let me explain what Alex looks like. He has caramel colored hair, kinda swept to the side. He has a beard, it's mostly stubble, and gorgeous hazel eyes. I almost forgot to mention, he has the most to die for smirk. 

I explained the whole story. Alex sat there and listened and took sips of his drink. It was so nice to just vent to someone, even if I did just meet them. 

"So, that's basically it. Thanks for listening." 

"No problem. I'm sorry that has had to happen to you. Why did you decide to come to London, I mean it's super far away and I'm guessing not the cheapest," He chuckled at the last part. 

"Well, I WANTED it to be far away. You know start over my life. Stuff like that."

We chatted for what seems like forever, I didn't mind though. He seemed to down to earth, it was nice. He was such a good listener. Usually I'm not one who's is very talkative, but I felt like I needed to get so much stuff off of my chest.

"Well, I suppose I should be going. Or I should say WE." He smiles. 

"I guess I lost track of time. It felt so good to talk about everything. And as much as I would love to hang out more, I should get back to my place. Maybe we can hang out some other time?"

"If we wanna do that, you'll have to have my number," He gives me a sly smirk.

"I guess I would. May I have your phone?" My heart was beating so fast. I don't know why. Maybe because Aiden was my first serious relationship and now I'm giving my number to some guy I found in London.

After I gave Alex my number I took an uber back home. Well, to Joe and Caspar's home. 

I knocked. I didn't feel like I was here long enough to just walk in. No answer. I guess I'll just text Joe. 

Joe, I'm home. Where are you? The door is locked. 

Soon enough he replied. 

Natalia! We are at the hospital. 

DUN DUN DUNNN! Haha, so anyways. School has been a bitch and I haven't had much tme to write. SO MUCH HOMEWORKK. I'm pretty much drowing in it LOL. I'll really work on it this weekend (Today is Wednesday aka the day I'm publishing this.) Hopefully I can get another chapter out by next week.
