Levi Ackerman X Reader :: AU :: I Should've known

Your eyelids slowly open and in instant, the light almost bind you. You quickly shut your eyes to moist them, and then slowly reopen them again. Your eyesight slowly adjusted to the bright contrast until you're able to see your surroundings. Your memory's fuzzy so you couldn't make it out where exactly are you.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Your eyes darted to the machine and for a split second, you widen them and gain your all strength to lift your upper body and rests them to the head board of the bed. You could tell you're in the hospital.

'Why am I even here?' The door to your room open and reveals the nurse with a clipboard. She softly let out a gasp when she sees you sitting up, then murmur an excuse before she left your room hurriedly.

You narrow your eyes at this, then look down to see your right wrist covered in gauze and bandage. Your one leg was covered with a huge, nasty bruise, as if it looks like there was a hand imprinted on your skin. Then felt on your forehead also covered with a bandage. You're a mess.

The nurse quietly left your room, running towards to the waiting aisle where the doctor and the young man exchanging a hush conversations. The nurse calls them, "she's awake."

The doctor blink and turn his head. "Are you sure?"

"Positive." She gesture her eyes to the room.

The young man didn't need to double take before he dashes to your room.

Levi couldn't take his eyes away from you. He watch you breath, write on your notes, then your eyes would glance to meet his and you'll smile on his way. You're quiet pretty, in his opinion, maybe more than that. But there's something Levi couldn't point out what makes him so attract to you. Maybe your shining (h/l), (h/c) hair? Your large (e/c) eyes?

Yes, Levi will admit you're one hell of a girl that attracts the man's attention, but no way he would admit that to everyone... especially his mad classmate, Hanji. His friends, or even everyone, knows you're one of the girls who have this cheery bright aura and an optimistic person. That's what makes people likes and envies of you.

But, to Levi's astonishment, you're quiet a strong person. You're fragile in inside but solid on the outside, and that's one of the reason Levi likes you. Yes. The short man started to have this tiny crush towards you, and he wonders if you ever feel the same. But he could tell the obvious, you're always became flustered whenever you're alone with him. Or even in front of his friends.

To his mere present, Levi saw you waiting to the school gate like always. You perk up and wave over to him, and his gals behind him. Hanji was the one who responds first. "Yo! (Y/n)! Want to come with us!?"

"Tch. Shitty glasses, can you any get louder?"

Hanji sheepishly smile at him. "Naw, don't be a kj, shorty. Let her join with us. Besides, it'll be fun~." Levi didn't missed her teasing tone and simply look away.

Not only Levi, but also his friends as well. They've noticed something wrong about you.

You're giddy but distant to everyone and you refused to have some close friends. Levi didn't have guts to ask you but thanks to the four eyes, she made you feel welcome to them and eventually, you agreed to them to be part of their friends. There's a probability chance Levi could get more close to you.

You lot went to the said meeting place where Hanji would love to go. She brought her camera then stops to the hill. "Here we are! A perfect place to take a timeless moment here for graduation!"

"You make it sound like this all will be end." You laugh.

And again, Levi could feel his stomach churn crazy just hearing your laugh and he cursed himself.
