"No, young master Goken. Swing in a downwards arc to get more force." Goken was outside in the yard, training with the Captain of the Castle Guard, Castellan. He was only 12 by this time, but still making quick progress. He had already mastered hand to hand combat, bladed weapons and shield. All he had left was learning how to handle blunt weapons and how to effectively wear heavy armory.
Perhaps this was due to the fact that he was born under the sign of the warrior. Perhaps it was because he had Nord blood in him, and the Nords were known as capable warriors throughout all of Tamriel.
Thaddeus watched from the upstairs window. He smiled as Goken smashed clean through the training dummy. Outside he could hear the castle blacksmith, Niels, forging new weapons and armour for the training. Niels, also a Nord, had been giving Goken lessons in smithing.
Thaddeus thought to himself "He'll be fine."
