"Wait....what?!?!" Everyone yells in shock while glaring at Cassandra. She just smiles and crosses her arms.
"What is the problem? Is it because I am a wife and mother? Does that mean I can't go on an adventure?" Cassandra asks still smiling. Her hazel eyes appear to change colors from golden to a golden-green color. Colessa runs up to her mother and gently takes her mother's hands.
"Mom, what are you thinking?! You are the voice of reason, it is too dangerous to go to Lhell!"
Colessa's own hazel eyes look disturbed and questioning as she looks into her mother's hazel eyes.
"Perhaps...but I would rather be traveling with everyone, instead of waiting and worrying here." Cassandra says.
Aaros is still looking completely shocked at his wife, but then starts smiling.
"Well, let us all get a move on."
Everyone gathered a few belongings and were soon ready to leave. When Aaros opened the door, sunlight poured in along with a cool breeze. Once everyone was outside, they and turned a looked a their cottage with longing, before started down one of the forest paths. Their cottage was a small, humble place and somewhat old, but it was home. Colessa couldn't believe they were about to leave. There was potential danger everywhere with giant beasts and magical creatures roaming about. As if on cue with her thoughts, the ground began to shake.
The family all gasped and huddled together as they saw an enormous reptilan creature walking by. The reptile was walking on all fours and had legs like tree trunks. It mainly had green scales, but there were patches of brown scales that looks almost like spots. There also appeared to be green moss on it. It had to be around 14 feet tall and the ground quaked with every step. The creature didn't seem to notice the humans and minded its own business until it faded in the forest thicket. Garen shocked expression turned into a mischevious smile.
"What was that? I want to have a better look. I can't to see what else we see!!" Garen exclaimed while his green eyes lit up and his long black hair blew in the wind. Aaros, Cassandra and Colessa just looked at each other. Even Aaros seemed to realize just how dangerous this trip would be. In fact, he almost looked like he was ready to turn everyone around. Colessa kept on silent wishing he would say it, but they kept on walking forward.
None them knew how long they had been walking, but the sky began to change from light blue to a dark blue purple. Colessa's legs felt like iron weights and she was about to tell everyone she needed to rest when a loud bellowing voice seemed to come out of nowhere. "Humans dare come through MY forest?!" Colessa screamed in surprise along with her family. They began looking around and everyone's eyes finally found where the voice came from. Then the families mouths all dropped open as their eyes looked up and up into the pure red eyes of a...
"MINOTAUR!! Wow, so cool!!" Garen exclaimed while running dangerous close to the minotaur. Garen smiled up towards the minotaur. The minotaur had to be around 10 feet tall and was heavily muscled. The part man, part bull beast had on golden and black armor and a huge silver axe on its back. Garen was around 5 feet 9 inches, but next to the minotaur he might as well had been 2 feet tall. Colessa gave Garen a side glance in disbelief. It was like her brother didn't even realize the danger any of them were in. The minotaur looked very confused too. It appeared as though the minotaur was going to say something else and moved his mouth, but no sound came out.
"Wh...o...? Wh...Wha?" The minotaur stammered, while blinking very fast.
"So you are the guardian of the forest? How long have you been doing that? And you are so big and cool. I bet you can rip a tree out the ground. I wish I was that big strong!" Garen exclaimed, smiling widely. The minotaur still looked at a loss for words.
"I...I am pretty strong...I guess." The minotaur finally mumbled and shuffled his feet in a shy manner. Aaros, Cassandra and Colessa all just stared in silence and shock at what was happening before them.
