Flowers are but a Memory

We got out, we are on the surface. They, Frisk, had gotten us out. I don't know how they managed it but they did. They stumbled sometimes but we were free. Now I hadn't told anyone yet but I fell for frisk. I think it was when we went to Grilbys. They told me a lot and so I went with them throughout the journey. Even... even pretended I woulda killed them if it hadn't been for Tori. They were unfazed. They just smiled and said that they knew. They always knew.

My heart had jumped when they said that. I think they knew I could kill them if I wanted. They knew I wasn't as weak as pretended. Yea I had only one hp but they didn't care. They didn't hurt me nor did they try to. They never hurt anyone and if they did they cried. It was kinda cute, but none of that matters. What matters is we were free looking into the sunset and I was standing next to Frisk. I was about to touch their hand when paps said he was goin to explore and I knew it I woulda gotten coughing so I left to.

I wish I hadn't done that because no matter how I had tried to tell them I couldn't do it. We were here almost 3 months now and I still can't tell Frisk how I feel. But today, today I will do it. I have it planned out. I was taking Frisk to see the cherry blossoms today, and when they least expected it I would say it. I would tell them the only thing prettier than the blossoms was them. I would wrap them in magic and kiss them.

They would hate me most likely but if I didn't do it this way I don't think I ever will. Well it's time to get them. I walked out the door and locked it.

I used my shortcuts to get to her house took a breath and knocked. "Knock knock."

"Who's there?" I heard a giggle behind the door.

"A heard."

"A heard who?"

"A heard you were going on a date with a skeleton today." There was a burst of laughter from within. A deep breath calmed them and the door opened.

"Come on in Sans I'm almost ready just have to do my hair and get my stencils... oh and my pack. There is tea in the kitchen help yourself." She was turning around in thought talking to me from behind her back. Then she went upstairs and I went to the kitchen. I opened the glass cabinet.

I poured some of the tea into a cup and sat down. Heh earl grey tea. It's funny how she still loves all that syfy stuff. I should have expected as much at the time. I was washing the dishes when she came down. "You ready to go lazy bones?" Her hair was covering one eye and her pack was over her shoulder. I guess she didn't want to wear the fake eye.

What happened to it was my fault of course. I... it wasn't a good day nor was it one I was found of, but she had kept her promise not to reset despite my begging her to as Alphis helped her.

"Who you calling lazy." I joked back, "I coulda just teleported into the house you know." Heh house more like mansion. That's what we get for her being the ambassador of us monsters.

"Come on Sans. Let's go I'm excited." She took my hand and dragged me out the door locking it behind her. We walked to the park and chatted. She had been looking forwards to this for quite awhile from what I gather. Just a day away from all the politics mostly.

We had gotten there no problem and chosen the perfect spot. The way the sun hit her hair... I mean the blossoms of the flowers was perfect. So we sat and talked more she drew and sketched them. When I looked at them though it was darker than it looked in reality. Not all of them just one specific spot was. It almost looked like reality was distorting.

"Hey umm Frisk. Why are these so dark compared to the others. I mean I don't see anything in the light in that spot that would make them look like this."

"What are you talking about Sans. That's what it looks like. Don't you see it?" I looked at her face and put my hand up. "I thought the way the trespass the light refracted on the blossoms was pretty. Is it not?"

This was it. Not ideal but it was it. "No, it's not as pretty as you are Frisk." I said my head down my eye was green, but when I looked up Frisks face was that of horror. My went back to blue because their gaze was not on me but what ever was behind me. I slowly turned my head to see it. Honestly I was shocked it was almost like looking into a twisted reflection of myself. A black skeleton that looked like me only with error flying in the air around it and blue tears or something like that coming down from its sockets. It had blue strings attached to its fingers that if followed lead to Frisks soul.

"Hey buddy, I don't know who you are but if you don't let go of Frisks soul, your going to have a bad time."

"Heh cccccc-classic, what else wwwww-would I expect from yyyyy-you. Tttttt-trying to pppppp-protect them. Unnnnn-fortunately I can't dddd-do that. I nnnnn-need Frisk and theeee-re soul. Your iiiii-in my wwwww-way so mooooo-ove."

Next the blue strings wrapped themselves around my soul and both frisk and I went flying into the air. I was tossed against a tree.

"SANS?! SANS HOLD ON. LET ME GO I NEED TO HELP SANS. He only has 1hp." They screamed I looked up at them my sight was red and blurry. I tried to get up but at  .0001hp I just fell back down.

"Sss-sorry can't do ttt-that so I'm just gggg-going to squeeze this lll-little soul of yooo-urs till you pass ooo-oout. That www-way it is easier to ggg-get you where I nnnn-need to." I heard Frisk scream as he squeaked their soul I looked at them my vision going black. The last thing I saw was Frisks limp body going with that thing into a hole in space-time. He would pay. I would get Frisk back, but when I tried to follow everything went dark. The darkness had won and I was with it but I wasn't dead just yet.

"Frisk I'm.. coming for y..o..u."
