It was just one of those days, you couldn’t force yourself to get up from your couch and be productive. You spent all the day watching TV, practicing on your piano for a little while, and then back on your couch. You looked out the window: the weather was awful, you thought as you cellphone buzzed on the coffe table. You picked it up to read a text from Scott asking if he could come over at your place and just hang out for a little while. He texted you back saying he was going to be there in a couple of minutes. You smiled reading at the text and you sat back on the couch. Scott was one of your bestfriends since you both moved in LA and recentely he was becoming more than that. It had happened a few weeks before: you made a dirty joke, you always did but he never blushed. Untill that time. You thought he was so cute and just decided you liked him a lot. Maybe a little more than a girl should like her friends. As you were speaking, you glanced at your outfit and realized you were still in you PJ. You rushed to your bedroom and in the closet to changed your clothes and while you were in the bathroom the doorbell rang. You walked back in the living room and opened the door to see Scott’s bright smile.
“Hi Scotty.” You smiled at him and he hugged you.
“Hi Nat.” He smiled again stepping inside the house and walking in the living room. You closed the door and went after him, still smiling. He was sitting on the couch a seemed a little worried.
“Hey, is everything ok?”
“Yeah.” He answered smiling nervously. “Yeah, everything is fine. It’s just… I have something to say to you.” He glanced at your reaction and saw you were keeping it cool as you sat beside him.
“Then speak.” You smiled.
“That’s not so simple. You know I’m not good with words.”
“You write songs.”
“Yeah, I don’t think I have time to write you a song telling you that I…”
He stopped looking in your eyes. ‘I think I know where this is going to end’ you thought, starting to feel your heart bumping in your chest. “That you?”
“Natalia, I…”
“Yes?”
“I think, that I…”
You were just jumping out of the couch with excitement.
“Could you just talk while we’re still young?”
He took a deep breath and then spoke.
“I think that I need to use you iphone charger.” He than said, with a grin.
You stood there shocked. How could he? You thought he was going to say… What? To say he loved you? You felt so stupid for hoping for that. You were just one of his friend, nothing more. You just stared at him before getting up and walking to your bedroom. You went back with your charger and handed it to him. He looked up at you, that grin still on his face.
“What’s so funny?” You asked, sounding upset.
He smile got wider. He grabbed your wrist and pulled you onto the couch. He started to tickle you and made you laugh. Then he stopped. He was laying over you, his baby blue eyes staring into yours. It was happening. He leaned on your lips as you closed your eyes. When your lips connected you felt electricity filling the air, you heard bells ringing, you saw fireworks over your head. He was the one. He pulled away and smiled at you.
“This is what I really had to tell you.” He looked so happy you smiled back, feeling the luckiest girl in the world.
