When I had awoken were in an oped area surrounded by forest, Merle was nowhere in sight I wondered what he was up to. My dad was setting up tents only two though , I guess he did not want me to sleep alone in a tent, especially with the walkers wandering around.

I hopped out of the truck, walked over to my dad, and asked, "Dad where is Merle, and why did you just leave me in the car.?".

"Merle went to go catch some food, and I didn't want you to get hurt so that is why I left you in the car, and would you mind helping me with the tents.?" Dad had answered me.

"Oh and I don't mind I have nothing to do anyway." I responded.

I was helping Dad when Merle came back talking about a way into the city maybe to get supplies, I thought he was crazy, but my dad said if he can get in and out safe then he can try it. I suggested I can go with him, but they both said no immediately.

"Dad, I can help watch from the rooftops with my bow & arrows, I can keep him safe, we can both come back ALIVE." I implied to them.

"Daryl she could help me get in and out of there alive we should give her a try it's not like shes gonna turn on me, I think it is a good idea." my uncle Merle had suggested.

My dad gave Merle an ugly look before agreeing, "I guess so but you better bring her back alive, and if you don't it is on your hands Merle." Daryl announced in an angered tone.

Merle and I set out to the city the next morning, leaving my dad alone at camp. We jumped a fence into an empty alley with nothing, but the smell of death around us. We heard the walkers stumble around in the streets, mumbling, and groaning, alone in death itself.

They were not themselves anymore, they had not known what they were doing or where they were going. They were lost in their own heads forgotten and dead.

Merle and I found an emergency staircase to the rooftops, we climbed it to not only find a man, but a little group alongside a rooftop a few blocks away, though we did not know if they were walkers or not, for all we know they could be. We headed towards where we had seen them watching the streets, Merle did not want me straight behind him, so I stand about five feet behind him at least, so he would not loose me.

"Sarah stay here in case anything happens, I don't want you to get hurt." Merle declared.

"You just don't want dad to kick your but if i get injured again." I cackled.

As if Merle would be scared of my dad, Merle was the oldest of him and Daryl, but I just had to say that to get a laugh out of him.

"Okay, that is part of the reason but I am serious about you staying here now stay put, squirt." Merle proclaimed.

He always called me squirt ever since I could remember, it never bothered me though I always thought it was funny.

Merle headed into the building while I was watching the walkers from above to see their reactions to the world. They were confused, it was like they were isolated from the world as we know it. There was nothing left for them anymore, nothing but death itself.

They were dead, truly entirely dead.
