About1am, Megan's cell rang. She looked at the caller ID and saw it wasJessica. She answered it and Jessica said, "Sorry to call solate but I didn't know who else to call about this." "It'sokay. You know you can call me any time. What's up?" Megan said."I think I'm in labor. I think I've been having contractions butI'm not sure" Jessica said. "What does it feel like, howlong have you felt it and have you timed them?" Megan asked. "Itfeels like someone taking the top of my abdomen and squeezing it.I've been feeling them since about 11pm. What do you mean time them?"Jessica said.

"You'redefinitely having contractions. Next time you have one grab a pen andpaper and write down the time then the same with the next one. Dothat through about five of them then call me back" Megan said.Megan could hear her freaking out so she said, "Try and staycalm sweetie. You're okay and she's okay too. Is A.J. awake?""No he's still asleep. I wanted to be sure it was labor before Iwoke him. I'm in the living room" Jessica said. "Well don'twake him yet. Make sure it's true labor first. Remember what he didwhen I had the twins and they weren't even his." Megan saidchuckling a little.

"Didn'the run through the house with the phone and his shoes in his handstrying to find his shoes?" Jessica asked. "Yeah. That waspriceless. Okay try to relax and time the contractions. Are you goingto be okay or do you want me to come over?" Megan asked. "No.I'll be fine for now" Jessica said. "Okay if you're sure.Just call me back after five contractions and if you change your mindand want me there I'll come" Megan said. Jessica said okay andthey hung up. When she moved for the phone, she woke Joseph up and heasked, "What's up?" "Jess thinks she's in labor"Megan said. "Oh okay" Joseph said. They cuddled back upwith the phone in Megan's hand and relaxed. They fell asleep andabout 2am, the cell rang again and Megan just answered it. "Sohow far apart Jess?" Megan asked.

"I'mnot Jess" Crystal said. "Oh sorry Crystal. What's up?"Megan said. "I think I'm in labor. I've been having contractionssince about 6pm and it feels like it's getting worse" Crystalsaid. "How far apart are they?" Megan said. "I don'tknow I wasn't timing them" Crystal said. "Okay get a penand paper and write down when the contraction starts for each one. Dothat for five contractions then call me back okay?" Megan said."Okay" Crystal said then they hung up. Megan got situatedand the phone rang again. Megan saw it was Jessica and answered it."Hey. So how far apart?" Megan said. "Thirteen minutesand they're getting stronger" Jessica said.

"Okayfirst of all relax. Page the doctor and see what she says then callme back. Wait to wake A.J. until you talk to the doctor. If she saysto go in then wake him and call me. Otherwise just call me back tolet me know" Megan said. "Okay. I will. Bye." Megansaid bye and hung up. Megan looked at the time and saw it was 2:49am.She laid back down but didn't get back to sleep before her phone rangagain. It was Jessica. "Hey Sweetie, what did they say?"Megan asked. "She thinks I'm in labor and wants me to go in"Jessica said. "Okay. Do you want me to go with you?" Meganasked. "No. Get some rest then come over in the morning. I'llcall you if I get to nine before you get there" Jessica said."What did A.J. do when you woke him?" Megan asked. "Ihaven't yet. Stay on the phone and hear for yourself. I'm putting youon speaker" Jessica said.

Meganheard a click then Jessica said, "Babe, A.J. Wake up please.""What's wrong?" he asked sleepily. "It's time to go"Jessica said. "What do you mean. It's... 2:50am. Where could wepossibly have to...you mean it's time?" A.J. said. "Yes. Ialready talked to the doctor and she said to go in" Jessicasaid. There was some rustling and Megan heard A.J. say, "Welllet's go. I'll grab the bags. Where are the bags?" "They'realready in the car" Jessica said. "Okay. Let's go"A.J. said. "Ah Honey, you're in your boxers and tank. We have toget dressed" Jessica said. By this time Megan is doingeverything she can not to laugh.
