Chapter 4: Filming with Suzy and Dan

It's been a few days since the concert, I've been sleeping like a baby, and of course relaxing. I haven't seen Dan or any of the Grumps either, they've all been busy. They actually are coming back tonight, they were just in Austin, Texas. As sad as it is that my tour ended, it's just means I have more time to write songs and hang with my friends.

Today I made a decision, I wanted to to move to LA. Yes I live in Canada, but I've been meaning to move out of my mom's house for some time now (and she has been subtly hinting for me to get my own pace), she won't mind me moving at all. I have this hotel room for another week, I planned in advance to stay and sight see before I headed home. My band mates on the other hand headed home yesterday, saying that they were excited for whatever comes next.

Currently it is 6 pm, and my phone rings, it's Danny. I pick up, "Hey man, haven't heard from ya in a few days, what's up?" I smiles as Dan speaks. "Yeah, we just got back from Austin for this con, anyway can I ask you something" this intrigues me, "course man, shoot". He pauses then speaks, "would you wanna shoot a video with us tomorrow? You'd choose the game. It'll be you, me and Suzy". The second he mentions Suzy I can tell he is grinning, knowing exactly how I feel. "Sure, I would love to, I am good at retro games after all" this makes him and I chuckle in response.

After half an hour of talking over the phone, I hang up and let him head home to chill. I was excited...but also nervous. I have never been in a video online before, so it was going to be a new experience. That night I got to bed at 10 pm wanting as much sleep as I could get. I dreamt of what was to come.

The next morning I wake up to my 8 am alarm, feeling well rested. I brush my hair, and apply light natural makeup, dressing in a lavender tank top with Mickey Mouse on it, light blue jeans, and blue converse with white stripes. For breakfast, I eat a cheese omelet with waffles and bacon. By the time I finish it is 9:30, Dan said to be at the Grump Space by noon. Luckily it's within walking distance, I decide to watch TV to pass the time.

At 11:45 I walk over to the Grump Space, headphones in my ears, listening to NSP. As I arrive, I knock on the door, and Arin answers. "Right on time Liz, cmon it" I walk in and head up the stairs. Danny immediately hugs me and I grin. "Hey man, you look sleepy" he just shrugs it off, then we walk into the recording room. Suzy is already in there waiting for us. "Liz, happy to see you, missed ya" this makes me giggle and blush a light pink. "Thanks, Suzy, right back at you". I walk over to the game shelf and OMG they have a lot of games. "Your choice" I scan the shelves for a while then pick Sonic 2. Suzy sees my choice and smiles; maybe she likes sonic too?

The episode begins soon after, "Hey welcome to Grump Cade with Dan and Suzy" then there is a pause. Suzy picks up the silence, "And our special guest Lizzy Voice!" I take a deep breath. "Hey lovelies, a pleasure". We then talk about the game, my concert, and their trip to Austin among many other things.

This lasts for 3 hours, of course they'll cut the session into chunks. "You are really funny Liz, and I didn't know you were so good at Sonic" I grin proudly. "That's my childhood" Dan notices our conversation and leaves the room. At this point, it is 4 pm, and my stomach growls. "Wanna get food with me?" I nod, thus Suzy and I go to a small cafe and get lunch. "I've never met anyone as cool as you, well that's a girl of course" I chuckle at this remark.

I order a BLT, and Suzy gets soup and Salad. We talk about our childhoods and how we feel about the internet; I know, haha. An hour later, she pays the bill and we head back. Barry is editing our session and I can hear him chuckle at some of our conversations.

"Wanna play some Mario Kart? There isn't really much else I have to do until tonight" So we play Mario Kart till 9 pm, then I head home. But before I do, I kiss Suzy on the cheek as we say goodbye. I swear I saw her blush before she closed the door. God my face is so red, that was very heat of the moment thing, I don't regret it though.
