I groaned as my cell phone rang, waking me up. I was suffering from a fever, it came on suddenly. I was feeling better now, but I was still tired.

“Hello?” I muttered into the phone, not fully awake yet.

“Hazel,” a familiar voice said, and the voice woke me up immediately. It was my boss, Dr. Mills.

“Dr. Mills, hello,” I greeted him politely.

“Hello, Hazel. Your sister Emerald told me that you were sick, and I just wanted to check in and see how you’re feeling,” Dr. Mills explained, sounding concerned.

“Oh, I’ll be back tomorrow, I think. It was the fever, I woke up last night and was hot and cold at the same time, shaking, sweating, and I knew that it was the fever. I feel better now, I, uh, was sleeping.” I explained, trying not to make it sound like that I was annoyed at him for disturbing my sleep.

“I’m sorry, Hazel. I didn’t realize that you were asleep. Well, I’m glad to see that you’re feeling better. If you still don’t feel good tomorrow, just call. It’s alright.” Dr. Mills said.

“Thank you, Dr. Mills.” I thanked him, a small smile on my face. He had been an old friends of our father's and after my dad's death Dr. Mills became sort of a father figure to me and Ember.

“Of course, and Emerald will be home soon, alright?” Dr. Mills asked.

“Great, and Dr. Mills, you do know that you can call her Ember, right?” I teased.

“I know. Feel better, Hazel.” And with that, the line disconnected.

Well, that was short.

I sighed and put the phone down, running a hand through my brown hair. I turned on the television and looked for something entertaining to watch.

After searching for a little bit, I gave up and settled onto ‘E! News’. I listened to the story that was on.

“Harry Styles in the hospital?” My ears perked up, and my hazel eyes shot up to the television, where there was a picture of all of the One Direction boys darting into the hospital….the same hospital that I worked at.

“Harry Styles, 19, apparently had an asthma attack on stage, causing a panic attack that made the whole situation worse; forcing the other boys to stop their concert and take him to the hospital. We’re here now with the nurse-on-call for today, Emerald Till.”

“What?” I shrieked as the camera panned to Ember, who was standing with Ryan Seacrest---what the hell---in front of the hospital.

“Hello there!” Ember exclaimed, waving.

“So, Emerald-” Ryan started, but was cut off by Ember saying, “Ember,”

“Ember,” Ryan corrected himself, “What was it like, nursing Harry Styles back to health?”

“Well, Ryan,” Ember started, here we go, “I’m not the main nurse-on-call, my sister Hazel is, but she’s sick at home, so I was called in. It was a bit scary, Harry wouldn’t calm down, so I did what I had to do." She paused slightly, uncertain. She made my heart stop. What the hell did she do?
