Zander looked ready to kill, "Don't worry. I won't let anyone hurt you, Kayla."
The voice let out a laugh, "Are you sure? Are you REALLY sure?"
All of us shot our heads towards the door, finally pinning down the direction of the voice. The doors quickly swung open, revealing a sight I never would have expected to see. Hair white as snow, skin blood red, eyes black and gold staring into mine, roughed up clothes, and a pistol in his hand; I saw a monster. Dried blood covered the bandana around his neck as he smirked at the boys and I. Beside the red-skinned man was a similar looking woman in matching thug like clothes.
"Aww, what's the matter boys? You really didn't think I wouldn't find you, did you?" The man teased.
Zander lashed out in anger, "I hoped you would you piece of-"
BANG
All of a sudden, the man raised his gun at Zander's face and instantly pulled the trigger.
I couldn't help but scream, "NO!!"
The boys gasped in shock, instinctively expecting to see a bullet run through Zander's face but...
"Wha-What the fuck?!" The man yelled.
"W-Wha?!" Zander raised his hands to his face in confusion.
What should have been a headshot, ended up being a loud but empty shot. The pistol echoed it's empty shots as the man grew more and more pissed, pulling the trigger over and over again in aggravating.
"Why the fuck won't you work?!" The man shouted at his gun.
Blake smirked, "This place is protected."
"What did you say, shrimp?!"
"This place has a seal, protecting it from Hell-borne magic."
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean!?"
The man growled and threw his gun at Zander, who was able to dodge it in time. The pistol bounced off the ground a couple of times before sliding further away, hitting the wall in a final stop. As it stopped moving, the gun faded into a black flame that disappeared into the air.
"The previous owner had this place protected by magic, Malix" Lucas scoffed.
Malix, that was his name. His existence resonated in my memory from the nightmare I had. However, I looked to Lucas in the same confusion as Malix did.
"This place is protected?" I questioned.
"It would seem that your grandfather had some sort of protective barrier around his house. From the looks of it, it only disables Hell-borne magic." Elijah informed.
Malix's face grew to that of extreme anger, his fist tightening as if he was crushing a stress ball.
"Then what's stopped me from DRAGGING YOUR ASSES OUT AND SHOOTING YOU THEN?!"
Out of pure instinct, I stepped forward and placed myself between Malix and the boys. With no power, Malix wasn't going to fight. I took that chance to stand up to him instead of being powerless like I was in my dream.
"Get the fuck out of my house!"
Malix laughed and stared at me in disbelief, "Whoa, whoa! Who let the bitch out of her cage!? What is this, a reverse harem or something?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"
Malix grinned at me evily, walking close to me. He swiftly raised his hand to swing at me, but I ducked just in time underneath his incoming hand. I took a couple of steps back as Zander and Lucas stepped in front of me, guarding me from any other attacks from Malix.
