Chapter 4

I woke up the next morning to my alarm. It was only nine in the morning, ugh. To a lot of people, that’s sleeping in, but not for a piercing student. I don’t have to go to work until noon. I stumbled out into the living room and got myself a bowl of cereal. August left the TV on from last night so I dropped onto the couch and watched some show for a bit. I turned on my laptop and went on Facebook. David had found me and added me as a friend. I accepted and played some more Tetris, it’s an addiction… And a bad one at that. I lounged around for a while until I had to go to work. I walked there slowly and was a little early. My tongue hurt a lot more, but luckily we had the mini bar with ice in it under the desk anyways. I sat at the desk and sucked on some. I sent out orders for some more supplies and jewelry for the first while. Jeremy did all the piercings and there were some tattoo appointments. Not too much happened. I got to put out all the new rings and stuff though. We just started getting spacers. I got home late and did nothing until my phone rang. No name showed up, but I picked it up anyways.

“Hello?” I said into the receiver.

“I’m bored,” David whined from the other end.

“Where are you?”I asked with a laugh.

“New York City,” He replied.

“How are you bored in New York?” I asked.

“Because I’m all alone!” He whined some more. I could hear Kevin laughing in the background.

“Oh, poor you,” I said sarcastically. “Adopt a dog or something.”

“That’s actually a good idea,” He said thoughtfully.

“I’m being replaced by a dog?!” I asked.

“No!” He said loudly. We laughed and talked for a little and then hung up. He called me almost every day for the next two month.

“Jesus Christ Jess, calm down,” August told me.

“I can’t, David’s coming back tomorrow!” I said spinning in my chair. I pushed my glasses up my nose and smiled widely at her. Jeremy walked in and gave us a funny look.

“What’s wrong with you two?” He asked.

“It’s not me, it’s her,” She said and pointed at me.

“David’s coming home tomorrow,” I told him.

“That’s lovely, now can you please help meout? There’s a girl who wants her hips pierced,” He told me and walked out.

“Well, that sounds…” August started.

“I know.” I said and followed Jeremy out. Sure enough there was an 18 year old girl wanting to get her hips pierced, how stupid.

“You take one side, I’ll take the other,” He said.

“Kay,” I said and did as I was told. I wonder if it’ll be hard to wear pants… In general, the rest of the day was really boring. August and I got take out that night.

“Chinese or greek?” I asked her looking at the two take out menus I got from the drawer.

“Ooo! Greek please!” She said and I ordered the food. We watched a movie and ate in silence. The movie wasn’t as good as we thought… Later that night I decided to go to bed and had a really tough time getting to sleep. Like the nice person Jeremy is, he gave me the day off because David was flying in early in the morning. August woke me up the next morning… By pushing me off my bed.

“Wake up Jess, we have to get to the airport,” She said and walked out. To that, I sprang up and got dressed. It was cold out so I decided to wear jeans and a long sleeved shirt. I quickly got my hair in place and we left. I was bouncing up and down the whole time.

“Jesus Christ Jess, you’re going to run us off the road if you don’t cool it,” August told me. I laughed.

We finally got there and waited around, their flight had just landed. Then people started coming out from security and we started looking for David and Kevin. They finally appeared and David was scanning the crowd. He spotted me and said something to Kevin before hurrying over. I ran and met him in the middle. He hugged me like he’d never let go and I was perfectly fine with that.

“I missed you,” He whispered in my ear. I giggled.

“I missed you too,” I told him. We finally let go of each other and walked out of the airport, Kevin in tow. I dropped August off at work and went with the boys to their house.

“Wait! What about Kyle?!” Kevin said from behind me.

“Who’s Kyle?” I asked.

“You’ll see, but we have to go get him from my mom,” David said. The boys shared a weird look in the backseat and I decided not to ask any more questions. We pulled up and Kevin sighed.

“Just get in and get out, okay David?” He said.

“I got this,” He said and walked out into the house. He was only five minutes before coming back out with the cutest little dog I’ve ever seen.

“Drive,” David said and I did. I could see his mom peeking out through the window. We made it to their house and walked in.

“Wow, how is anything you live in so clean?” I said jokingly.

“We have a maid,” Kevin said with a grin. Kyle was sniffing around at my feet.

“He is so adorable!” I said and bent down to pet him. He just rolled around on the floor being cute.

“Well you said to get a dog,” David pointed out.

“I was kidding,” I said standing up.

“I know, that’s why I did it,” He said with a grin. “Let me show you around.”

They had everything, kitchen, dining room, living room, office, but my personal favorite was the hot tub and pool out back.

“Being a rock star has its advantages,” Kevin said. I laughed and David brought me upstairs to show me his room. It was very like him. The walls were a dark blue, he had a flat screen tv, an unbelievably huge bed and like the rest of the house, unnaturally clean.

“Like it?” he asked.

“Yeah, it fits you,” I said. I had a feeling we’d be spending a lot of time up here. Then there was a little scratching at the door. Aw! It was Kyle. I picked him up and walked back over to David.

“It’s Kyle!” He said and his voice cracked. I laughed and Kyle was just happy to be loved, but who couldn’t love this cute little French bulldog? We chilled and watched a movie on the floor, his carpet was really nice. And Kyle is definitely taking a liking to me.
