When I approach Firkle, he's sat alone on a step. He's smoking, a cigarette dangling from his mouth as he scribbles something down in his black notebook. As I approach him, I see that he's writing some sort of poem, but a lot of it is scribbled out.

"Hey Firkle." I greet, my hands behind my back. He quickly shuts the book, slipping it into his bag. He looks up at me, as I'm stood up and he's sitting down. Firkle spits out his cigarette, stomping on it with his boots.

He stands, quickly lighting another cigarette and facing me. "What."

The black haired boy stares at me, his eyes blank and circled with eye liner. I tilt my head to the side, glancing up at him and smiling.

"Would you hit me?" I ask, fluttering my lashes.

Firkle almost drops his cigarette.

"What the hell? You want me to hit you? Stop fluttering your lashes, it's repulsing." I stop, and glare at Firkle.

"Are you going to hit me or not?" I fold my arms, giving him a stern look.

"Ask Kelly." He says simply, taking a drag out of his cigarette. I eye it.

"First off, it's Karen. Second off, she's way too precious and sweet for that. Third off, will you burn me instead?" I motion to the cigarette. Firkle's facial expression instantly changes to one of realisation as he flicks ash from the cigarette onto the floor.

"Rachel, if you want to harm yourself go ask an emo." Firkle tells me.

"Why don't you know anyone's name? My name is Ruby, and I thought we were friends!" Firkle than shakes his head.

"Correction, I'm not your friend. I'm Ike's ex boyfriend, and you're one of his best friends. Technically,we shouldn't be speaking." While Firkle goes for another drag of his cigarette, I snatch it from his hand. Firkle gasps, a small noise of surprise and he reaches back for the cigarette.

I yank up my sleeve, and duck away from Firkle. Being shorter than him really helps.

"Ruby! I demand you give that back!" Firkle orders, but I ignore his words.

Gritting my teeth, I plunge the lit end of the cigarette down onto my arm. I shriek at the pain, taking deep laboured breaths.

For Craig.

For Craig.

Firkle yells my name, and I remove the boiling hot cigarette from my arm. It's left a small circle of blistering pink skin. Firkle is at a loss for words as he stares at my arm. Looking at the burn, the cuts.

I take this as an opportunity to press down once more. I do, and I can hear my skin sizzle and pop, pain racing up my arm, my mind begging me to stop the burning. I fight against the pain, wanting scars to show to the police.

That's when I feel tears drop down my cheeks, and Firkle shove me.

"Stop it!" He screams, his eyes wild and glassy. The shove has caused my to drop the cigarette, and he stamps down on it before I can move.

Tears still flow down my cheeks, and I take small, shaky breaths, hoping it will somehow numb the pain. I stare down at my arm, gripping my wrist so hard that the area I'm holding turns white and my nails dig into the skin. It distracts me from the pain of the the burns.

I look up at Firkle, my amber eyes  meeting his deep blue ones. Our gazes lock.

"Never come to me again with something like this." Firkle hisses, I study his eyes. This is the most emotion I've seen out of him since his break up with Ike. "I swear Ruby, go to Karen."

"No.. I've already said she doesn't need to be caught up in this. I care about her too much." I admit.

"I don't want to be baby sitting you." Firkle says.

"I didn't tell you too."

Firkle reaches his hand out, placing it gently on my arm. He stares down at the cuts, shaking his head.

''If you're carrying on like this, I may have too. You're Ike's closest friend, and I don't wish to see him upset because of this."

I feel dizzy.

Lightheaded.

Overwhelmed with pain, thoughts of my friends.

I open my mouth to respond to Firkle's words, but no noise erupts. Before I pass out, the last thing I feel is the warmth of Firkle's arms around me.

I have a question. What is your interpretation of Pacify Her?

I see it as if Crybaby is going after a boy who is already in a relationship, and she will do anything to rid of the girl, but I'm not sure if this is correct.

I also suggest you make a playlist of Melanie's songs for this series, as I've just wrote this chapter to her music and it was amazing
