With a bright smile on his face, Matt entered the apartment where he lived with his band mates Chris and Dom.

“Ah, mister Sunshine has arrived! Why the big smile?” Dom asked as soon as he saw his friend.

“And, where have you been tonight? You only said you were going out tonight, not where,” Chris added.

“Well, I met this girl on the underground this afternoon, on my way to the concert and…” Matt began, but Dom wouldn’t let him finish.

“You went on a date with her?” he yelled.

“Even more,” Matt said, grinning broadly.

“She’s your girlfriend?” Dom screamed enthusiastically.

“You could say,” Matt smiled.

“Good job, bud!” Dom said and slapped Matt on his back.

“But…” Chris started, “you only know her just yet!”

“That’s what I thought first but, there was this plot twist…” Matt began. Both Dom and Chris looked really interested, and so Matt told them what was going on between him and Hailey.

“How was your dinner with the band?” Jess screamed at Hailey as soon as she entered Jess’s apartment.

It was late July, and Hailey and Matt were now together for more than a month, so Matt had decided to introduce Hailey to his friends and band mates. Matt cooked the dinner himself, at the flat he shared with Dom and Chris. Hailey was really exited to meet the rest of the band, because hey, she still was a fan right?

“Well, I’ve discovered that Matt can cook the most delicious pasta Bolognese in the whole wide world!” Hailey joked.

“Oh, wish I was invited too, I love Bolognese!”

At that moment Hailey’s phone buzzed, squeaking this old-fashioned Nokia tune (I know you know which one I mean). She grabbed it from the table to discover that she had received a text.

Hi beautiful, mind meeting me this Friday? Love, Matt.

Hailey smiled at the screen, not deliberately and certainly not aware of it.

“Why are you smiling? Who texted you?” Jess asked, curious as always. Hailey looked up, still smiling.

“Sorry, what?”

“Why you’re smiling, who was it?” Jess repeated.

“Guess 3 times,” Hailey teased her.

“Oh god, I don’t know!” Jess exclaimed. “Erm… Your mum!”

“Almost right,” Hailey said and both girls laughed. “Guess again!”

“Oh wow it’s such a hard one… can’t be Matt..” Jess muttered while making the famous-thinking face, which includes pretending that you’re stroking your invisible beard.

“Come on, guess!”

“Your grandpa!”

“Could you imagine? Why yes hello, this is your granddad speaking, I’m calling from heaven just to see if you’re doing okay. Why? Well Jesus wanted to know but he didn’t have your number !” Hailey exclaimed. The girls laughed so hard they could barely breathe.
