(A spot light shines on WENDY as she picks up her phone to call ALEX. Another spot light shines on ALEX receiving a call from WENDY.)

Wendy: A-Ale?

Alex: Wendy? What's wrong?

Wendy: I'm coming to Baltimore first thing in the morning. I can't stay here with my dad.

Alex: Okay, do you want me to come and get you?

Wendy: Can you use your dad's truck so I can bring my stuff?

Alex: Yeah... what happened?

Wendy: Dad got a girlfriend a week after mom and dad divorced instead of waiting to respect me.

Alex: That's not right. He should've respected that you needed time to get used to it first.

Wendy: I'm packing my stuff right now, and I told dad not to wish me Happy Birthday in the morning.

Alex: Okay, I have to leave right now and I'll have to speed a little to get there by tomorrow.

Wendy: Okay, bye Alex.

Alex: Bye Wend.

(ALEX hangs up his phone. WENDY's spot light blacks out.)

Alex (to off-stage): Dad, can I use your truck?!

(ALEX's spotlight blacks out. He leaves the stage.)
