Chapter 7
When Lauren’s mom came to pick her, Camila decided to come with them because she wanted to make sure that Lauren is okay.
“Oh my… I forgot Charles’ game.” Camila muttered out of the blue while they were in the car.
She suddenly remembered that she had told Charles that she would come to his game. However, she doesn’t want to leave Lauren right now, so she just decided to text Charles. She quickly took her phone from her bag and started typing.
Camila: Hi Charles, I’m really sorry but I think I will not be able to come to your game, good luck and sorry again! Xx
After she sent the message, she looked up and turned to check Lauren and saw her frowned as she looked outside the window.
“Her foot must be hurting again..” She thought.
When they go into Lauren’s house, Camila assisted Lauren to walk into her room and when they got inside she carefully assisted her to sit on her bed. Right after that her mom came in.
“Here I brought the two of you something to eat.” Said Lauren’s mom as she put the tray with two glasses of juice and sandwiches on the top of the table.
“Thanks Mrs Jauregui.” Camila said while she smiled.
“How’s your ankle now hun?” Asked Lauren’s mom.
“It feels a lot better now mum, thanks to Camz.” Said Lauren as she weakly smiled at her.
“Thanks for assisting Lauren, Camz.” Her mom said. They all laughed.
“It’s nothing… She’s my friend.. And that’s what friends are for.” Camila anxiously replied.
“Anyway, I think I better leave you two alone now. I still have to prepare the dinner and Camila please stay for a while and join us.” Asked Lauren’s mom.
“Okay sure.” Camila slightly hesitantly replied.
After Lauren’s mom left, the room just suddenly became silent.
Then, Camila remembered that she heard her phone beeped earlier when she was assisting Lauren. She took her phone and opened the message.
Charles: It’s okay, Normani told me your friend got injured. It’s fine, I hope next time u could come. Btw how’s your friend now? Xxx
Camila pressed the reply button and then she replied.
Camila: Her ankle is swelling. But she said it’s feeling better now. Thanks for asking and yeah I’ll just make sure to come on your next game. Sorry again… Xxx
Camila but her phone back in her bag and looked up to Lauren, she looked sad.
“Hey.. Does your ankle still hurt?” Asked Camila worriedly as she immediately checked Lauren’s swollen ankle.
“No.” Lauren shortly replied.
But then she spoke again.
“Camila.. I actually want to talk to you about something..” Lauren muttered.
Camila lifted her face and then she cautiously looked at Lauren, wondering what she was going to say that seemed so important and had made her suddenly looked so serious.
“I.. I know you’re my friend.. and I really value our friendship. But I wanted to tell you this since the very beginning.. I was just afraid that you might avoid me so I just decided to wait for the right time. But I don’t think there will be a right time and I got to tell you this now… C-Camila I want you to know that I’m.” She stopped and took a deep breath.
“I’m gay.” She said in a serious tone.
Camila suddenly looked directly at Lauren with an astounded face. She really got surprised with what she had heard from Lauren. It had never came into her mind that Lauren could possibly be gay.
“I’m sorry if I told you this just now… But there’s one more thing that I need to tell you and I couldn’t bear to just keep this anymore…”
