Tears and Fears
2012, Olan L. Smith (revised, 2013)
---
Learning of Vicky Soto's valor my eyes burn with saltwater tears,
A teacher instructs, guards her pupils
Until the finish and this ending was red in blood, as sacrifice with tears
And of mysteries that last forever; a closet hides, encapsules,
A gunman inserts himself into their lives...a multitude of fears
Drown a nation, too much for us. What whys
Bear responsibility? Culpability belongs to a lone gunman...
Please, change what will be, Brother Aaron,
Lead us to milk and honey. A place where we see with three eyes,
And light fills the heart, a place where love, peace and freedom advise.
