hey babes! IM FINALLY OUT FOR WINTER BREAK, SO EXPECT SOME UPDATES. :)))

------------

An older lady cautiously approached us while clutching a bag in her hands. She had bags under her eyes, and her lips were pursed together. She looked extremely tired.

"Are the two of you okay?" The lady looked at Will with a bit of a glare in her eyes. "You need to be more careful with outbursts like that. Especially around here." She whispered the last part carefully to us. Will rolled his eyes at her.

"Listen lady, I am not in the mood for a lecture. If you would kindly leave us alone to talk, I'd be grateful for it." Will explained. I grabbed Will's arm and yanked on it while smiling at the lady. I finally spoke to him when we were in the privacy of his house.

"What was that about?" I screamed at him. "Are you trying to make them want us to move out?" His face fell softly at my harsh words. My heart sank in my chest for making him feel this way, but his actions were uncalled for.

"Anything to get me out of marrying her. She's just-" Will started.

"A bitch. I get that, but you may want to give her a chance. She may surprise you." I smiled and kissed his cheek. "I have to go now. I'll see you tomorrow." I walked out his door, and to Chase's house. Honestly, I should say my home but it doesn't feel like a home to me.

"Hey beautiful." Chase greeted me as I walked through the door. I smiled at him as a friendly gesture.

"Where is the guest room?" I felt bad for not sleeping in the same room as him, but he was a total stranger to me. He glanced toward my right and then back toward me.

"It's to your right, and it is the second door on the left." Chase said blankly. "Sleep well, okay?" I nodded my head and walked down the small hallway. I opened the door to find a smaller bed with white sheets. The room was covered in white. My clothes would just have to serve as pajamas for one night. I mentally told myself as I crawled in the bed. Then I heard voices.

"Yeah. Yes, I promise I will take good care of her. No, no harm will come her way, okay?" I think it was Chase who said it. I couldn't tell, but who could he possibly be talking to? Did Will come to talk to Chase? Why would Will care? All these thoughts and more came to my mind as I drifted to sleep.

--

I woke up to a soft light coming through the bedroom window. Where was I? Where was Katherine who was normally snuggled up to my side? That is when I remembered everything. The sick, Chase, my parents, and the foreign place I was now living in. Slowly, I rose off the bed and my feet landed on the floor with a thud. I didn't care for all the noise I was making. It was time for Chase to wake up. We needed to talk about his conversation last night, and who the unknown stranger was. I trudged through the hallway to the kitchen for some food. I was straving, and I am definitely not a morning person. I heard footsteps in the hallway, and then I saw Chase come around the corner.

"Well goodmorning, Sleeping Beauty. Sleep well I hope?" He asked me while raising an eyebrow.

"It was amazing after your conversation finally stopped." Chase's face paled, but he quickly recovered.

"I have no clue what you're talking about. It could've been next door." He rambled on. I just gave him a wary look, and continued making breakfast. "So I thought today we could invite your parents over, and have lunch together? What do you think?"

"That would be lovely, Chase. What should we make? Should we grab something special for it?" My mind spun. For some odd reason, I wanted to please my family. That had always been a struggle for me.

"No, D-the governor has strict policies about having special foods without it being a holiday." Chase replied softly and gave me a small smile. I guess he could see the disappointment in my eyes. "So today, I have a dinner with the governor planned, so I guess you could visit Will while I am gone. Or you could invite him here if you wanted?"

"And why can I not go with you?" He was acting strange. How could he make me feel comfortable around him if he was giving me so many reasons not to trust him?

"It is supposed to be just the two of us." Chase responded shortly before changing the topic. "So how about some chicken for lunch?" I just nodded my head before dumping some eggs on a plate and carrying them to the bedroom.
