Chapter 7

I jerked awake. It was still dark outside. Cursing, I reached for my phone to check the time. 4:39 AM, March 27, it read. WHAT. Adrien? The card? All a dream?! Why?! What? Argh. I was right, it is to good to be true... I put my phone back on the night stand then rubbed my face and stared at the ceiling contemplating life. I reached for my phone again, 6:30 AM. I sighed. Better get dressed I guess... HEY THAT RYHMES! Oops getting side tracked...

I went down stairs and mom was there preparing breakfast.

"Hey Hun! Did you get a good night's sleep?" She smiled at me.

No, no I didn't, I just thought the dream I was having is real but then it was just a dream and I woke up early and now I'm here, I wanted to say, but instead i just said, "Yep."

"Oh that's good, breakfast is ready." My mom placed a bowl on the table.

I sat down on one of the high chairs and ate my sadness away with the oatmeal. Finishing it, I put the bowl in the sink. "Thanks mom, I'm gonna go to school now."

"Now? But it's just-" I interrupted her, "I know I know bye!" I grabbed my satchel and walked out the door.

I reached for my phone and turned it on, 7:32 AM. UGHHH why am I so early!! "Oh hey Mari!"

I turned around, "Alya! Hi!" I waved.

"You ready?" She asked.

"W-what the you mean? I'm going to school-"

She looked at me like I was crazy. "There's no school today!"

"Oh..." I mentally face palmed myself. Alya shoved her phone in my face and showed me the date. Of course I knew that... I even checked the date... Today is Easter. That's why Alya's here. We always go to the park to find eggs on Easter.

"You forgot didn't you." She gave me a disappointed look.

"I'm so so sorry! I just had this amazing dream where- why are you looking at me like that??" Alya was giving me those Cheshire Cat looks.

"Nothing, nothing. Just come with me." She grabbed my arm and started walking. At least she wasn't running like last time. I almost died with my pounding headache.

She dragged me to the park where we usually had our Easter egg hunting. She looked behind me and still had that weird smile on her face. Then all of a sudden I felt hands go over my eyes and it went dark. I was about to scream until I heard a voice near my ear. "Guess who it is." The voiced whispered. "Ugh Alya! This isn't funny!" The hands still didn't go away and I heard Alya laughing. "Nope wrong answer." The voice spoke and took its hands from my eyes. I felt my face grow hot and turned around. Adrien was giving me an amused look. Why is he always showing up now? Then suddenly he looked nervous. Well his mood changed as quickly as a girl. Not complaining...

Adrien opened his mouth to say something. "U-uh.. Um, Marinette? C-can I ask you something?" He started nervously. I couldn't speak at this moment because I might stutter so nodded my head. It's kinda amusing how he stuttered though. "Guys can you give us a moment?" Alya and Nino, who I didn't know was there, gave us teasing faces then walked to a bench together. My eyes followed them until he spoke again. "So uh... Last night.. Um.. Did you uh have a dream about um.. Some card from someone?" I almost forgot to breathe at that moment. How does he know? "D-dream? C-card? U-um w-why?" I managed to get a few words out. He rubbed the back of his neck with his hand and looked anywhere but me. "U-um no reason! N-no reason at all! Just wondering..." Okay.... "Uh... Well... Y-yes I did..." I finally responded. He looked at me and his eyes grew as big as if he was shocked. "Um... Are you okay?" I asked. He snapped out of his trance. "Oh YES! Yes I am! Hehe..." "O-okay... I-is that all?" I just wanted to ask so I can run to Alya for comfort. "Yup! Thx Marinette." I blushed then nodded and ran to the bench Alya was sitting on.
