Previously in Chapter 9:

"That was the best time I've ever had!" Adrien beamed while we were exiting the building.

"I know right! That was so fun!" I agreed.

Adrien looked around.

"Is everything all right?" I asked.

"Uh, haha yeah." He rubbed his neck. "Hey wanna walk to the Eiffel Tower?" He asked.

"Oh uh, s-sure?"

"Okay let's go." He said and grabbed my hand.

I could feel my face getting hot. He's holding my hand!

"Adrien are you sure you're okay?" I squeezed his hand.

He stopped walking. He turned around and looked in my direction but he wasn't looking at me. He looked away. "I don't want to go home yet." He whispered.

"Okay... you don't need to go right now," I said puzzled.

He sighed and ruffled his hair. "I kinda have to since my dad wants me ."

"...O-Oh okay." I didn't want to pry but I feel like there's more to what he said.

He started walking again. Oh ok, I guess he's not leaving yet.

We finally arrived near the Eiffel Tower and he took me to one of the benches. We sat down and Adrien let go of my hand. He folded his hands in front of him and leaned forward.

Suddenly my flats seem to have sparked my interest. I started at them in awe.

I heard Adrien take a deep breath so I looked at him. He was staring at the sky.

I looked up.

The stars were shining brightly.

"It's amazing how close the stars are," Adrien said after a while. "They look close but in reality, there's a huge gap between them."

"Huh, I... I guess so." I stuttered.

Adrien studied the sky as if he could find what he was looking for in the stars. "Each star can represent a person. Look at those three stars." He pointed.

I looked. "They seem close, like a clustered family," I commented.

He nodded. "Exactly. But if you managed to get a closer look, they start to seem distant from each other." He said. Pain was laced into his words.

"What are you trying to say, Adrien...?" I asked quietly.

His eyes widened. He waved his hands in front of his face. "O-Oh nothing! I was just observing haha." He laughed.

"ADRIEN!" A man yelled in anger.

"Oh shoot. I gotta go. Tonight was really fun, I enjoyed it." He smiled. "I hope we can do this again."

"Yeah." I smiled back.

"ADRIEN AGRESTE!" The man yelled again.

"Bye!" He waved then took off.

I sat there dazed. I shook my head and checked my phone. It was already 12 am. Luckily my parents aren't home. I got up and walked home.

I got to my room and collapsed on my bed. What was that all about?

I fell asleep to the thoughts that cluttered my mind.

Monday had arrived. I haven't stopped thinking about what happened on Saturday. I rubbed my eyes and sighed.
