Chapter 15 - A life for a life

I was frozen to the spot. Jace cares for you. He doesn't want to own you...he wants to share a life with you.

Jace likes me? No, no that's can't be true. Why did he act so cruel to me then?

I stared at the spot Mynx disappeared from. She's saving her brothers because she loves them. I rubbed my sore throat and headed down stairs to find Lycan grumbling.

His face snaps up and he growls. "Where's Mynx?" He asked. I shook my head. "Gone. She went to trade places with the twins." I said looking down at the floor. I gasped when my body hit the wall. Lycan's eyes were deep black. Like pit holes. "Why didn't you stop her!" He yelled at me. I groaned. "Please Lycan. Stop." I whispered. He only pushed me harder into the wall. "Stop what? Stop hurting you? Well you can count that out, I should hurt you for hurting Mynx." He snapped. I looked him in the eye. "Please. Think of your human lover. Please. You don't want to do this..." I was cut off with Lycan squeezing me by the throat. I was loosing air fast. "How do you know about her!" He demanded. I squirmed. "M...Mynx..." I wheezed. He growled and squeezed harder.

I'm going to die. If he squeezes harder I will. I want to help him. And Mynx. She saved mine, I want to save hers. "Ly...Lycan...I want...to help...Mynx..." I said through gasps. Lycan loosened his grip a bit and frowned. "How? Your a puny human." I smiled a little. "Tra...de. My life for hers..." I said. Lycan let me go and I fall to the fall coughing for air.

He kneeled in front of me. "Why?" He asked. I sat on my knees. "Because. I want someone to have a happier life than me. I want Mynx to be happy with her brothers." I smiled at him.

"And me?" He asked. I took his cheek in my palm. "Love Mynx with all your heart. Trade me Lycan. I want Mynx to be happy." I said without looking away. He nodded. "Okay." He said. I smiled at him once more. He gripped my elbow and a rush of wind came swishing my hair. We landed in the castle. Guards came running towards us. "Take us to the king." Lycan snapped at Seth. The guards grabbed a hold of us and took us to the king.

The throne room doors opened and the king was sitting on his throne with Mynx kneeling. The king looked up and grinned. "What is this?" He asked. Mynx looked up with shock on her face. "A trade. The humans life for Mynx and the twins." Lycan said.

Mynx got up and looked at us if we were crazy. Well we are crazy. The king grinned. "Fine. Its a deal." He said. Mynx didn't agree. "No!" She yelled. I gave her a soft smile. "Its okay Mynx. Go and get the twins out." I said to her. I turned towards Lycan. "Find my diary. You and Mynx must read it." I whispered. Seth dragged me away from Lycan and the other guards dragged Mynx and Lycan out. I gave another soft smile towards Mynx and faced my doom.

"Lycan how could you let her do this?" I growled quietly as Lycan walked beside me down the hall and into my room. I had to wait for the twins to be stitched up and whatever else. Apparently I couldnt see them till after. "You think I could let you die?" He asked. "I know you wouldn't but she's human. You really think she will survive Seth and his sadism?" I ask as he looks away. "No, but we'll figure something out" he says and I turn around a growl, "BY THEN IT WILL BE TO LATE!" I yelled and he jumps a little. "I'm sorry." I said and sat down. He sat down beside me and hugged me, "its alright Mynxy..." he whispers. I began to drift off against his chest until I hear the door open. I jump up and run the twins who looked like they walked through a razor blade tornado in nothing but their underwear. I hugged them and they hissed in pain but hugged me back. "Are you okay!" I yelled and they nodded. "Wheres the human?" Ace asked and Lycan spoke up. "Your father gave her to Seth." Lycan tells them and they stare at him in disbelief. "Lycan...is that really you?" They ask and he nods. "Good to see you again guys."
