Chapter 15

April's POV
I was walking down the hall to check the OR board to see if I had any upcoming surgeries, as I was turning around I saw Jackson and my sleeping kids walking down the hall towards me.

"Are you going home?" I asked him as he kissed my cheek. "Yeah, my surgery got cancelled and the boys are asleep so I'm calling it a night." I laugh as I see Blake stirring in his car seat. "Hey baby." I said as I looked down at him and smiled as he woke up a little.

"Will you wait for me? I just have to change quickly then I'll be ready to go." He nods as I run of to the attending a lounge and get dressed and meet him where he was before.

"Can we just get a hotel for the night?" I ask him and he laughs as we start walking towards the elevator. "No we can't April, your family is leaving in two days. We can survive." I give him a look and he laughs at me again.

We get to the car and put the kids in the back and start driving home. "What did you do at work today?" I ask grabbing his free hand.

"Just some post-ops. It was a boring day." He said as we were pulling into our driveway. I sighed knowing that I would have to go in and face my family as I walked to the side door and opened it to get Blake's car seat out.

It was 12:36 at night so I expected my sisters and my mom to be sleeping, but of course they weren't. "April you had us worried!" My mom said coming over to me. "Mom it's been a long day and I just need some sleep okay?" I give her no chance to answer and walk into my room.

I went to change and I heard Jackson get into the shower, I walk out to find Liam in the middle of our bed and Blake in his swing, both sleeping. I climbed into bed and laid with Liam and gently rubbed his back as I waited for Jackson.

Amelia's POV
I'm debating whether I should do it. Hey why not get addicted again. Feel good. Make all the pain and heartache go away. I know it works I did it with Ryan, I can do it again. I pull a beer out of the fridge a figure I should just go for it.

I pop the top of and pick it up, but on que I hear a knock on the door. I put the bottle down and go to the door hoping it's not Owen. I open the door to see Lexi, and it looks like she's been crying. "Hey Lexi." I say as I look down and sees she has bags with her. "Hey can I stay here for a little bit?" She asks me I nod and she comes in.

"I think I just ruined my marriage." She cries. I look over at the beer and realizes she needs it more, so I go and grab it and give it to her but she shakes it away. "You sure you don't want it?" I ask putting my hands in my back pockets. She nods, "trust me I do but I can't, I'm pregnant." I looked at her shocked an she just nods.

I know Mark better than everyone, well except Derek so I know he did something to upset her. "I'll be back okay?" I tell her and she nods as she turns on the tv. I go to my room and close the door and I scroll through my phone seeing all the text messages from Owen. I ignore them and find Mark's contact and click the phone icon, and my phone starts ringing.

It rang six times before he picked up. "Yes Amelia?" He asks me sounding irritated and I can hear his kids crying in the background. "Spit it out Amelia!" He yells getting frustrated. "Why the hell did you break Lexi!" I yelled back at him and he sighs.

"I got mad at her for not wanting to have another kid, but it turns out that she's pregnant." He sighs again. "Do you know where she is?" He asks. "Yeah she's at my house." I tell him. "I'm coming over." Before I could say anything he hangs up and I mentally curse myself as I walk downstairs.

"Lex?" I ask and she nods. "I accidentally told Mark you were here and he's coming over!" I spit out in one breath and put my hands on the counter. She looks at me and takes a deep breath, "it's okay I overreacted, these pregnancy hormones do that." I laugh at her and check the time.

"Your welcome to do your thing here but I have to go to work lock the door when you leave." I tell her and I leave.
