By Friday I was getting so much better and able to go to school. I still had to be careful with my steps though and Grandma said my ankle would be as good as new in a week or so. Grandma was a very good healer, inline with her special talent as witch. As for modern medicine, she actually learned in medical school when she was young but war and economic crisis forced her to leave school and never able to finish it.
I also hadn't had chance to talk to Grandma about this witch thing. Sure I knew about it since I was little because Mom used to tell me our family's old history as my bedtime story. I chose to believe it as merely an old family tale until before now, along with Mom always referred Grandma as a psychic. Therefore it wasn't really a secret in the family. But, we still had to keep it as secret from anyone outside the family though, and thus we didn't talk about it openly and just said that Grandma was a psychic, it was easier that way.
Mom, being her only daughter didn't inherit the trait, so I wasn't supposed to have the talent too. The possibility was just odd. But Grandma always knew that I was different and thus she tried to taught me one or two simple spells ever since I was a kid without me being realized it. Dad disliked it to the moon and back. But now with everything that had happened, I guessed he didn't have other choice than to let me live with her and learn how to control my talent.
Keira welcomed me again and we sat together at lunch, along with three girls from her dance club. Keira introduced me to her friends and fortunately they welcomed me as well. There was Lauren, a girly girl with wavy dirty blonde hair similar to mine, next to her was Catherine, a soft spoken girl with warm personality and the third girl was Carla, a boyish girl with dark make-up and dozens of piercing on her pretty face.
I saw Levi and Seth at their usual table during lunch but no Dante nor Leah and the gothic girl, whom I had yet known her name. I hadn't hear from both Dante and David since they left our house two days ago. Where was he? Was he with Leah? Damn, I should have stopped thinking about him and the negativity.
Strangely though, I caught the both of Levi and Seth placed their analytical gaze toward me more than few times. One time I challenged them by raising my eyebrows when I met their gazes. They only smirked and pretended not to care, but somehow I knew they were nervous and didn't know how to react. Did they mean to be discreet in the first place? They failed miserably then.
If Dante's minion could ignore me, the I could do the same. For the rest of the lunch period, I immersed my focus into the girls conversation about a coming dance competition and for once after the accident with Luke, I felt somehow normal. There I was, chatting and giggling with the girls about dance event and cutest boys in our school varsity teams.
During lunch Lauren handed me a form for their dance club, they were recruiting new members and since I informed them about my liking in dancing, she thought it would be a good idea to join them. I didn't even have time to think it through because Catherine and Keira already filled the form for me, and all I had to do was to put my personal details. Carla rolled her eyes at their antics but she did offer me an encouraging smile.
So I thought, why the hell not. I might as well enjoy my time here. Mission number three, get new friends and try to enjoy normal activities, accomplished.
...
It was another Saturday and I was expecting my parents phone call, although they had called everyday after I got injured for the past weeks, but I assured them to not worrying much. I loved to hear from them, yet I was dreading receiving bad news about Luke. I wouldn't know what to do if something worse happened. Damn, I missed by bestfriend to the moon and back. Other than my family, he was my strongest pillar and since he fell into coma, I lived an unbalance life.
