"My biggest regret is hurting you."

•Jason's POV•

It's been six months since I walked out of that house. I haven't gotten drunk or high since then. And honestly, I'm happy now with the woman I'm with. It hurt like hell at first knowing Selena didn't belong to me anymore. It hurt knowing she's wanted my brother this whole time. But I got over it, eventually. It definitely took time and I don't know if I'm completely healed but I do know with more time I'll be okay.

Her name is Scarlett. We've been together for four months now and it's crazy to me because I never imagined I'd love someone the way I loved Selena.

Scarlett knows very little about how deeply I loved Selena. She just knows that she picked Jeremiah over me.

But today is the day we go see them. Because despite my feelings towards my brother and Selena, she's carrying my child and I do want to check up on her to make sure everything's okay.

"Scar! You almost ready?" I call out and she jogs down the stairs humming a random song as she pins a strand of her hair back so it's out of her face.

"Almost." She says and walks to the counter. She grabs her purse and a banana before she walks to me and kisses my lips softly making me smile as I kiss her back gently. She slowly pulls away and smiles up at me.

"Good morning by the way." She says and I smile slightly as I kiss her forehead and we walk towards the door.

"Good morning my love. Mentally prepare yourself for this day because I guarantee it won't go as planned."

She laughs and I open the car door for her.

"Why do you say that?" She asks and crawls into the car. I close the door behind her before I jog through the snow and get in on the drivers side.

"You haven't met my brother yet baby." I glance over at her seeing her shivering and I blast the heat. Being a wolf, I'm not exactly cold. I feel like I have way too much extra body heat. So I pull off my coat and lay it over her. She smiles at me and holds it over her arms so she can warm up.

"Thank you. Just remember that no matter what he says or does, it's not worth it to get angry, okay? You have to stay calm no matter what."

I nod at her and back out of the driveway as I head towards the house I haven't been back to in months.

As soon as we get there, my stomach twists at the familiarity. I've met up with Selena over the passed six months but never at the house. Yet I've heard she's had a lot of pain lately so I agreed to come here this time.

Dakota answers the door and his eyes brighten when he sees me. I smile as we pull each other into a hug. I've missed the boys, I really have. I greet all of them and introduce them to Scarlett. She glances to her left and I see her furrow her eyebrows as she looks back and forth between Jeremiah and I.

"You never mentioned you're twins."

Jeremiah stares at Scarlett before he looks at me and I try to ignore the anger building inside me. I walk to him and he squints his eyes as he tries to make out my mood.

"You're not gonna throw me into the wall again, are you?" He asks and I clench my jaw before I force a laugh and hold my hand out to him.

"Nice to see you again too brother. I'd like you too met Scarlett, my girlfriend."

He raises his eyebrow and looks over Scarlett again before he holds his hand out to her.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Jeremiah."

She nods and shakes his hand politely before she starts chatting it up with Dakota. I glance around the house seeing it hasn't changed much and I feel jeremiahs eyes burning holes in the back of my head.

"So where is she?" I ask and he glances at the stairs before he nods at it.

"She's been in too much pain to come down. Since the baby is a wolf, it's fucking her up pretty bad."

I can feel my wolf immediately get upset at the thought of Selena in pain but I push them away.

I refuse to feel that way about her.

I nod and glance at Scarlett seeing her laughing with the boys as they surround her. I smile slightly and she glances at me. I nod towards the stairs indicating I'll be back and she nods in understanding before she goes back to talking. I walk away from Jeremiah and make my way up the stairs. I stand outside Selena's room and listen closely hearing the heartbeat of my baby. I take a deep breath and knock quietly on the door before I slowly make my way inside. Selena looks over at me and I can see the pain written across her features.

"H-Hey.." She says shakily and whimpers again when the baby kicks i'm assuming. I make my way to her side and sit beside her as I stare at her stomach. Tears stream down her face and she's crying but as soon as I put my hand on her stomach; she stops.

I furrow my eyebrows and glance up at her and she looks extremely confused but soon her hand comes over mine.

"It stopped.. He stopped kicking.."

I glance at her stomach again before my eyes lock with hers.

"H-He? It's a boy?" I ask and she smiles slightly before she nods. I laugh slightly out of disbelief before I reach over and pull her into a big hug. I didn't realize what I was doing, I just went for it. She hugs back tight and I slowly pull away as I try not to get emotional.

I can't believe I'm having a little baby boy.

I run my hand back over her stomach and talk to the baby like I always do. Selena always thinks it's funny but I believe he can hear me.

"You gotta stop hurting mommy, baby boy. That's not very nice." I say quietly and I don't know why, but I kiss her stomach softly. I slowly pull back and glance up at her. Our eyes stayed locked for a while before mine slowly drop to her lips and she leans towards me but I shake my head and get off the bed.

"I gotta go. Call if you need anything."

"Jason.."

I turn around to face her and she slowly sits up.

"I'm sorry. I really am and I know you're tired of hearing that. But I miss you. I miss everything about you and my biggest regret is hurting you."

I stare at her and swallow hard but before I could say anything, I hear Scarlett's voice behind me.

"Jason?" She asks and I slowly turn around to face her. She's staring at Selena before her eyes lock with mine and she looks on edge probably because of what she just heard.

"Selena I want you to meet Scarlett. My girlfriend." I say and I can hear Selena's heart beating faster at my words.

"Oh uh.. Hi, it's nice to meet you." Selena says and forces a smile. I can tell she's upset and my heart hurts for her but I try to suppress my emotions. I can't do this again.

Scarlett walks to my side and grabs my arm as she smiles at Selena.

"You too. Are you ready to go Jase?" She asks and looks up at me. I glance at her before I look over at Selena again.

"Uh.. yeah. Seriously Sel if you need anything at all, call me. I'll see you soon."

She nods and I can tell she's upset as I walk out of the room with Scarlett.

Dammit Selena, why do you always do this to me?
