Chapter two
Fairy Dust And A Bunny
I stared at the vile with narrowed eyes. “Why do you have my mother?”
“She was given to me by my mother…when I turned fifteen…I didn’t know.” Snatching the bottle form her neck I popped the cork and tapped the glass, “What are you doing?”
“Trying to get her to come to life. If I can get Loli to come out I may have a better chance to keep you alive during this job.” I growled, tapping the glass again. “Mother, mother you’re safe now.” I whispered, watching her for signs of life.
“James….” Her voice sounded like gentle bells on my eardrums, “James is that you?”
“Mother…” she slowly climbed up and out of the bottle her wings slowly turned blue as the dust filed back into them, her once lifeless eyes began to gain colors. Blue, green, red, orange, yellow and much more.
“Ah my little boy…” she murmured, leaning up on her tip toes to kiss my nose, “You’ve grown so much. Your father…does he hate me now?”
“No mother. He worries what has happened to you but he can never hate you.” I whispered, barely breathing.
“Good.” I set her down on the floor and watched her body glow and grow until she was three foot two. “Now, who is this young lady?”
“A job mother, I'm a guard for her.” she stared at me with narrowed eyes, seeming to understand I didn't want to talk about this.
“Alright, but here.” she took the leather bracelet I had given her when I was a kid and handed it to me, “If you are ever in too much trouble then take this off. I will know and I will come help.” she leaned up on her tiptoes and kissed my cheek before disappearing in a flash of blue.
“I-I'm sorry...” Bunny whispered. I turned to see her looking at the floor, her eyes misting. “I didn't know it was your mother.”
“Heh, don't worry. All I want to know is how your father got her and why.” before she could reply Jay opened the door with a angry expression on his face.
“Wanderers, three men and a woman in the front and they have the back covered.” shit. I snatched bunny closer to me and wrapped my jacket around her shoulders. My scent should hide her's but there was no telling.
“Damn it. Stay by my side, bunny. No matter what.” she nodded, staring at me with those big red eyes. Albino hare. My mind supplied. “Lets go.” she stuck so close to me she was clinging to my side. But I didn't mind it, she felt good. Most hare shifters were boney and tended to smell badly, but Bunny smelt good, her scent brought back memories of Christmas. She also wasn't thin. No, Bunny had a beautiful body any man would want. Nice firm ass and thighs, high cheek bones and a a nice pair of breasts that I could feel the nipple hardening against my side.
When we reentered the bar the four wanderers were standing with their backs turned to use, interrogating Robby. The ursine shifter looked ready to kill. “Jay, distract them if they start looking.” I growled, tugging Bunny over to the entrance as quick as I could without looking like I was in a hurry.
“Will do.” he mumbled around a fresh tooth pick, it made a light snap as my wolf brother decided to cause a nice bit commotion.
A bar fight.
That's right. The fucking wolf decided to punch the nearest shifter to him, leaning in real close to insult him too. And soon it was an all out war with the wanderers stuck at the back with Robby. “Was that good?” Jay asked, wiping the blood from his chin.
“You little fucker...i 'otta-.” Jay bundled us three out the door as a burly wolverine slammed into the wall just where Bunny had been huddled, “Alright you dun good you damned goon.” I snapped, bringing Bunny against me again. “Now lets go.” I took Bunny over to my motorcycle, making her sit so she was facing me, her legs tightly wrapped around my waist. This way if we got attacked she wouldn't get hurt as much as I would.
I could take a bullet, she on the other hand would be severely hurt. My phone buzzed in my pocket and I quickly snatched up up to see Eyrin calling. Shit not now! I hit ignore and started the bike, driving out of the parking lot like a bat out of hell and with Jay on my tailpipe. Bunny nestled her head on my collarbone, nose sniffing here and there. Was she crying? Oh well she would have to deal until I got her safe.

About forty miles out she started shivering violently against me, her small body felt like ice now, even with my thick leather jacket around her. Jay looked over and nodded, zooming ahead to make sure the next rest stop had a motel and was safe. If it wasn't then we would have to continue until we found a safe place. Bunny would just have to deal. My phone beeped and with a bit of difficulty I opened it to see Jay's text.
'Safe man, bring her in.'
I sighed softly and pulled up next to Jay's bike, still holding Bunny against my body. The wolf opened a door to a two bed motel room, and motioned me inside, “I've got a hot bath for her already running, go ahead and help her out.”
“W-where are we?” she shivered, looking up at me with red cheeks and a red tipped nose.
“A safe place kid.” I murmured, shutting the bathroom door and seating her on the lip of the hot bath. “Jay ran you a hot bath, you need to warm up and I'll have Jay get you something to eat.”
“W-wait!” Bunny cried, holding the front of her shirt together, “Y-you're not going to stay in here while I bathe are you?”
“Of course I am.” I snorted, yanking her hands free of the wrinkled fabric, “It's my job to make sure you are safe, even from yourself.” she opened her mouth and I cut her off, “Elizabeth, I know this is all new to you but YOU hired me to keep you safe. What type of body guard would I be to let you slip and crack your head on the floor?”
“Why do you call me 'Bunny'?” she suddenly asked, allowing me to help her out of the tight clothes.
“Because you are a little bunny rabbit.” I replied, turning away when she was down to nothing more that her panties and bra, “You can take it from here, Bunny.”
“I thought you were supposed to keep watch over me?” she asked, tone sarcastic. So Bunny had spunk?
“Well if you like...” our noses brushed as I turned around to stare into her ruby eyes, “I can watch you that whole time, every inch of you?” the scarlet blush that spread down her neck and to her bare chest made me grin, “I didn't think so.”
“You're mean.” bunny complained, splashing water onto her arms and shoulders.
“No, just truthful.”

It shall be a bit fast paced for a while as i get into the groove of writing this book, stay with me though.
Why hasn't James or Bunny jumped each other like mates should? Simple, i don't normally write that their eyes meet and they are meantto be or all that goody two shoe shit.
James and Elizabeth will fall in love over time like Shiba and Eyrin did. And yes Shiba will be in this book along with Eyrin. they will be helping the couple escape from the Wanderers.
