Things went off to a smooth start the next morning. We had finalized the design for the University and it was printed on to a blue print with precise measurements.

I was reviewing it with Mr. Jae in my working room to make sure we hadn't made any miscalculations before sending it to the contractor.

" Well everything seems to be okay. " He concluded while I still continued to scruntize the vast sheet of paper until I was fully satisfied.

I nodded my headed at his statement while pursing my lips.

" Yeah I think so too. I'll tell Sun Ho to deliver this to Mr. Hirai today. "

Mr. Hirai was the contractor who was in charge of this project and he happened to be an immigrant from Japan as well. He was by far the best contactor under the company.

" Sounds good. Care for some coffee? " Mr. Jae offered out of the blue.

" Sure. " I said before turning my attention back to the blue prints.

He sauntered to the coffee maker and filled two cups for the both of us.

I saw the steam from the plastic cups spiraling in the air after he placed them on our working table.

During the last inspection of the design I spotted an unexpected mistake and asked him for a pencil to correct it.

He did as I told him but in the process he knocked a cup of coffee over and the hot liquid splashed on my hand.

GOD!!!

I hissed in pain.

" Oh My God! Jia! I'm so sorry! " He apologized in distress.

The pain was unbearable and it felt as if sharp needles had bore into the depths of my skin.

I couldn't say a word at the moment, and tears had started to well up in my eyes.

He grabbed my wrist and bolted out of the building amongst the sea of staff members.

Throughout the car ride, I shut my eyes tightly and winced in pain ; only praying that the stabbing agony would ease.

The doctor had applied paracetamol and ibuprofen upon reaching the nearest hospital after washing the burn for a good whole twenty minutes with cool water. That was finally able to give me some relief after the seemingly endless torture.

" It's a good thing you were here as quickly as you could. A minute late might have made it serious. "
The doctor said after completing the procedure and putting his supplies away.

Mr. Jae stood behind the seat I was sitting on with a anxious face. I could tell that he was still shook by the accident.

" Will she be alright? " He asked him with worry plastered on his face.

" Yes the scald will heal over time so don't worry. " He replied calmly.

I looked at my hand which was still red on the spot where the coffee had spilled. I touched it lighting and experienced a sharp pang.
