It seemed like a clear spring day, the birds were singing and leafs rustled and danced in the wind.
I lay down, dipping my feet into the icy water. "You seem to like it here." I turned my head a bit and nodded."Who wouldn't? It's such a beautiful day and no-one seems to be worried." I saw the fish swim around my feet. "I bet even Itachi would have enjoyed it." I whispered to myself, my eyes started to sting.
Jiraiya's P.O.V. (point of view)
I watched her stiffen up a bit, maybe some bad memories? But I knew she was keeping something away from me.
"So, what are we doing today?" she suddenly chirped, I laughed.
"Get ready for the most amazing thing ever!" she tilted her head.
"I'll teach you how to summon a toad!" she just shrugged"I already summon something else, is it possible to learn a second one?" I shook my head
I took a seat next to her
"So... what do you summon?" she smiled excitedly
"Something really cool! I am not so good in it yet but Ita- my brother told me that it would be a phoenix!" I furrowed my brows
"You are lying!" I yelled, crossing my arms
She winced when I got louder and covered her head. "I'm not, I promise!" she was shaking with fear, it seemed as if she often was hit.
I lifted my arm and she automatically made herself smaller and stiffer.
"Hey, don't worry, I won't hit you." she opened one eye and peered up at me.
"Anyways, where did the tough girl from yesterday go? I thought you would kill me." I teased her
"Don't make such stupid jokes! I meant if you make a serious move! I can't just kill my sensei!" she yelled crossing her arms.
We stayed silent, she really wanted to seem like an adult, but she is trying so hard, she acts like a kid.
"Hey Amaya?" she turned to me. "How about we go and get some ramen?" I knew she didn't know what that is but she would have to know in future.
She nodded and started walking towards the city again. Her distance felt so helpless, as if I had to be there for herself.
I watched her stare at a hair pin. "You want it?" she frantically shook her head.
"I-I can pay for it." she grabbed a little cat purse and counted a few coins together.
"That's way too little! Come on, I'll pay for you." she grabbed my hand and pulled me away.We passed many stores, food, jewelry, clothes and other objects.
"Amaya, you do know as your sensei, I must know your weaknesses?" she nodded slowly and slowly ate some ramen.
"But, there aren't many things." I sighed, "What a complicated little girl you are."
"I try my best." she smiled sadly.
"Anyways Amaya, I have a question for so long, I hope I don't offend you but, why are your eyes so different?"
"It's my kekkei genkei, my brother tried to make the best out of it but we don't know how to activate it yet."
"Where is your brother now?" she stiffened up again but shook it off."I ran away from him and his friends." again, she turned distant.
"Amaya, I hope you know that you can relax around me." "I don't trust you enough, yet."I sighed again but ignored it. " I'll take another sake."
The young man smiled at me and nodded. "And what's it going to be for the little one?" she furrowed her brows "I'm not a little girl!!"
"Easy, easy, you have a tough grand child." I smiled and nodded "She has that from me, but could you watch over her for a moment, I need to get something important. Here's the money." the guy smiled and gave her a little doll.
The last thing I saw was how she ripped off the dolls head and the guy gawked at her. Yep, she has that from me, also if I'm not really related with her.I ran to a small store, hoping the little hairpin would still be there.
"Miss, I remember earlier today, there was a little carrot hairpin." she smiled sweetly and handed it to me.
"Is it for your grandchild?" I nodded "Yes, it is."
I handed her the right amount of money. "What's her name?" I scratched the back of my neck"Amaya, she's a real darling." I thought of the doll... "Most of the time." I placed a charming smile on my face
"But you know, you would be the perfect model for my new book, if you know what I mean?" I wiggled my brows.
Her pleasant smile disappeared "You sick PERV!" I ran from her furious fatherNote: Don't flirt with a girl, after pretending to be a grandfather!
The rest of the night, Amaya kept yelling at me for leaving her with that embarrassing guy. He even wanted to play with dolls...

I told her to go to sleep but she said she couldn't.
"Why, just close your eyes." she sent me a glare
"I told you before, he could be after me!"Oh, forgot about that. "I'll look after you, don't worry." "He's strong-"
"I'm one of the legendary sanin!" her big eyes widened"Jiraiya the toad senin?!" I smirked "Yes, now sleep." I watched her lie down and look at me.
"Promise you won't do anything perverted!" "I promise kid.""I'm not a kid!" I sighed and gave in. With a small smile plastered on her face, she fell asleep.
God, this little girl is a handful! Now I know why I never wanted to have any kids!
But I still wonder, what her kekkei genkai does.
"Jiraiya-san, why are you looking so serious?" her soft voice startled me.
"Nothing, I was just thinking of a few memories." "Oh, I see, good night."
"Good Night, Amaya."______________________________________________________
I tucked her in and sat at the window, watching the field of stars cover the sky.
When I was sure she was in a deep sleep, I took out the hair pin and placed it into her hair.
Another sweet smile formed on her lips, she really looked cute compared to the little girl, who wished to be an adult. You must appreciate your childhood, I would swap with you any day!
Amaya, who are you? And, who is your brother?
