Heading downstairs in our pack house I pass a lot of members, our house was basically a mansion but we had many pack houses, our pack reached across 4 1/2 states (Missouri, Kansas,Oklahoma, Louisiana, and 1/2 of Texas) it was just easier that way.
"Good morning Luna," Jenny called out as I reached the kitchen.
"Morning! Whats for breakfast?" I listen to her as I tried to find my planning, "wait Jenny have you seen my planner? I swear I left it-"
"Right here dear," she picks it up, "I was trying to hide it from you take so you can take the day off, you haven't had time for yourself in almost a year."
I'm a workaholic what can I say? "Jenny there is far too much stuff happening in order for me to do that, plus you know why I do it..." Okay maybe Jenny was the only other person I told what happened. She was a mother to me when mine passed, she helped me with my dads drunken nights several times too.
"I know sweetheart," she flips the omelet, "it doesn't mean you should give yourself away though, you deserve happiness as well."
"I am happy Jenny," plopping down on the stool across the kitchen island from her I flop open todays agenda, "Shit I have to visit the Mountain pack today. They're like what, 3 hours away?"
"Try 5, so you should probably head out after breakfast so you're not late," my father says as he strolls in the kitchen in his suit and tie taking a pancake from the stack that Jenny just made, "lovely as always Jenny," he said watching her every move.
I know he's flirting with her just by the tenseness of herself as he says her name. Rubbing my temples, "stop hiding guys, I know you're seeing one another. So please save the 'secret'" I use my hands as quotation marks, "flirtations around me. I get it, and I'm happy for you both, but its far too early and I haven't had my omelet yet," pouting my dad laughs at me just as the children of the pack run in for Jenny's pancakes, they are by far the best things ever. Though her omelets take the cake as number 1 in my book.
"I told you she'd be fine with it Jenifer, believe in me a little more." as he reaches for the plates for the kids, she turns around to look at me from the stove.
"Are you sure you're okay with this Han? I don't want to force on something you don't want, but you are my daughter to me in my eyes." Her eyes are getting teary.
Oh great, she's crying! You'd think I would of done enough for the whole world, "Of course Jenny, I've known for a long time. And I wouldn't want it any other way." Smiling at her as she sets my omelet down, "but enough with the gushy stuff," taking a bite, "dad why am I going to this pack again?"
"John is just a friend of mine, I want you to socialize with them and help with some issues they've been having. Hell you might even find your mate there. Hell everyone gets a chance, I'm lucking I got my second chance." It made me freeze up even though I was halfway through chewing my food I swallowed it down, and lost my appetite. "What? Hannah you need to give up this always work mentality, you deserve happiness and you deserve your mate." Man dad you have no idea.
Jenny does though, "Domanick lighten up on your daughter. She's happy now, so leave her and the damn mate thing alone or you won't be getting any pancakes for a week!" He groans.
Not wanting to be part of this conversation anymore I walk back to my room in the back of the pack house to grab my already made bag and slide on a pair of vans. Guess I should head out so I can make it by 3.
"Bye guys!" Waving to everyone in the kitchen I walk out to my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. My baby, I got her customized to be all white with black tinted windows and black rims, and since Missouris weather today is actually decent I decided to take the top off as i ride the five hour trip to Fort Wayne to visit the mountain pack.
If theres no mountains I'll be very upset.
