Part. 1

Guy woke up to find himself lying on a cold, stone floor.

"What the-?" He groaned ,and tried to sit up too quickly.

Grimacing, he held his head in one hand as if to hold it together. His brain felt like a Salvador Dali painting left out in a rainstorm.

"Hello?" He called out, peering around the dim chamber. A dull red light was coming from somewhere, but all he could see for the surrounding 100 yards was stone and shadow.

"Sssshhhhhh!"

Guy jumped and twisted around to stare into the gloom behind him. "Who's there?!"

"Be quiet!" The voice from the darkness hissed. "He'll hear you!"

"Who?" Guy lowered his voice to a whisper.

"The Demon."

"What?!"

"This is his playground. And we're his toys."

Guy wasn't having that. He pushed himself up to his feet, patting himself down. He still had his clothes on; his jeans, boots, and shirt, but he was missing his phone, his wallet, his keys, and most importantly in this instance, his pocket knife. He had been robbed.

How the hell had he ended up in this dungeon, though? It looked like he had somehow fallen into the set of a Hercules movie.

"Who are you?" He demanded the voice in the darkness. "Show yourself!"

There was a moment of ringing silence and then he heard a soft scuffling noise.

Slowly, a little figure emerged from out of the shadows.

His brown eyes widened as he saw that it was just a young girl. She was filthy and gaunt looking, her strands of hair hanging lank around her bony shoulders. She wore only a simple, dirty shift dress and was barefoot.

Huge pale eyes shone up at him out of the darkness.

His much bigger body slowly relaxed as he studied her.

Poor little thing; she sort of reminded him of his sister's long haired Chihuahua.

"What's your name, hun?" He asked her quietly. He held up his hands to show her that he meant no ill will towards her. "I'm Guy."

"Guy?" She said softly. She had very parched lips and it seemed difficult for her to speak. "That's your name?"

"Yeah, what's yours?"

"Mary."

"Mary? It's nice to meet you, Mary. Do you know how we got here?"

"The Demon picked us."

Guy cleared his throat, glancing around them as he eased a bit closer to her. "That so? Are there any others?"

"No, he killed them all. I'm the only one left."
