03_What you mean to me~♥ (Part 2)

 

 

[Tina’s POV]

 

It’s been three days since Mitch left and I never heard a word from Luke about it…His mom said that he has been confining himself in his room and hasn’t come out ever since he went home that night…he doesn’t eat at all… I was really worried when he’s mom called to me… so here I’ am in front of their house…I was about to press the door bell but someone went out of the house… It was Luke’s mom… She went to the gate and opened it for me…

“Tina good thing you’re here… I was really worried for Luke… I don’t know what to do anymore… I’ve never seen him like this before…” Luke’s mom said as her tears flow down her face…

I went to her and hugged her… to comfort her…She must be hurting too… seeing her son like that would really break one’s heart…

“…Tita its okay… he’s going to be fine…” I said, trying to ease her distress…

“…oh my… I got something in my eyes…” She said as she wiped her tears away and smiled, trying to hide her emerging feelings. “…uumh…its nothing…so don’t worry about me… come in… I baked some cookies for you…It’s been awhile since you came to visit…” she said as she led me inside the house.

She doesn’t change at all… Tita Anna was still the same, hiding her sorrows through her sweetest smiles and trying to be strong… she’s been like this ever since her daughter Ava, Luke’s little sister died from Leukemia… She wanted to be strong for her son and husband, for them to make it through… And now, she was really worried about Luke’s sudden changes…

After she placed a tray of tea and cookies at the table, she sat on a chair opposite to mine and looked directly at me…

“So Tina… tell me what happened that night…” She said calmly, looking straight into my eyes, searching for an answer…

I cleared my throat and started to tell her the whole story… About Luke and Mitch’s feelings for one another… and how both of them ended up being away from each other… about me, being the cause of it all… It was my fault… I tried to hold my tears but as I reminisce the past, on that part where I hurt them the most… makes my heart cry…

“I’m sorry Tita… I know it was my fault… I didn’t realize that they will end up to this…situation…” I said, as I lowered my head because of guilt.

“Tina…I admire you for admitting your fault… but blaming yourself and not doing anything at all to fix what’s broken is not an excuse…”

“…but… I tried…” My eyes met hers and slightly look away…

“Yes you tried… but do you think it’s enough? Have you ever asked yourself this question? Now that you know the consequences of your act… have you tried to think of other possibilities to solve this problem?” She said calmly…I can feel her concerned eyes upon me… and as I look at her, she gave me an encouraging smile… making me smile too.

“I guess you know what I mean…” She said as she sips a little tea from her cup… then she placed a key on the table and handed it towards me… “Now it’s your turn… Please bring back my son…”
