"Dad I'm going now" I say as I race up the stairs to say goodbye and give him a massive hug. I love my dad, he's the only one who really looks after me and my sister, all mum does is drink and sleep it's a continuous cycle that will never stop no matter how hard I try. When I hug him I smell that nice, fresh dad smell, it's something only my dad has. He gives me a peck on the check and then walks me to the door. "Bye Dad" I say with a spring in my step as I walk out and close the door behind me.
As I'm walking down the street a terrible howling wind wipes around my hair, I realize it's the last day of spring, huh, how has the year gone so quickly. I daydream as I walk down the street to the same old, boring school. When I reached the gate and I saw Thomas and Heidi waiting for me on the fence they suddenly jump down as soon as they saw me and rushed over. " Charlie! did you hear about tomorrow?" said Thomas "no" I said wondering what was going on. " something bad's going to happen" said Heidi "well what is it!" I urged to know the answer. "the scientist don't know yet but apparently it's going to be really bad" Oh god. "any who" said, Heidi as we were all walking to our classroom to get some extra work done before school.
