Jace -

I turned off the freeway, my blood rushing in excitement. I was getting closer. I knew the way to Chance's house by heart, and even I didn't I would have found out easily. Scenes. Vivid, bloody, violent scenes were flashing through my head like a Rocky Horror picture show. Projecting clear, and bright images of my emotions in action. By now the sun had dived under the black blanket that was now the sky. The streets were no less busy. Evening traffic and such was still a thing. But I weaved in and out of openings with vigor. With every mile I grew closer and closer. Like a predator creeping up on it's prey. Ready or not, here I come.

...

Several minutes having passed, I parked right outside of Chance's town-home. Number 6646. It was a tall red-bricked building wedged between two others like itself. The windows glowed with a slight tinge of yellow. I sat in my car just taring at the door for a long time, flipping my phone around in my hand as I did some quick thinking. I wasn't armed with anything, but that's no matter. I'll find something I'm sure. The street lights were on, a few straggling joggers passed with ease. I watched a woman walk her dog past the house and let him pee on the tree not too far from the front door. Then she continued on. I held my phone to my ear, listening to the line ring. I'll try one more time, because I am a nice guy. I wanted to give him a fair shot in telling me the truth.

"Hello?"

"Where is she?"

There was silence, and then rustling. I waited for a moment, clicking my tongue on the rough of my mouth while rubbing the dust off my dashboard with the tip of my thumb.

"Where is who?"

"You know damn well who I'm talking about, don't play dumb because I fucking hate it and it's only gonna piss me off more."

I said.

"Jace, I seriously don't know what you're talking abo-"

"Where the hell is she?! Tell me now and maybe I'll think about sparing you."

There was another pause, more rustling. I turned to loo at the house and saw the curtains shuffling from the inside. I leaned against the steering wheel and waved.

"She's not here. I swear."

"Oh really? So when I come inside and find her what can you say to cover your ass?"

"You're not coming inside."

He replied firmly.

"The hell I'm not, who's gonna stop me?"

I scoffed, leaning back I pressed the button on my keys, unlocking all the doors of my car.

"The cops are on their way right now, if I were you I'd just get out of here Jace. It's over."

I had to laugh at that, because it was cute. It was real cute.

"You're right. It's over."

I then hung up on him, opened the door to my car and dropped my phone onto the asphalt. With the heel of my shoe I stomped on it until the screen cracked and the metal backing scattered out onto the street in bits and pieces. It's called destroying evidence. Clearing my throat, I looked around the street, searching for something heavy. I spotted a brick hidden halfway under a spindly looking Azalea bush. Ah, perfect. I sprinted over to the bush, grabbed the brick and tested the wait of it in my hands before climbing the little steps up to Chance's house. Show time.

...

Riele -

Chance knocked on the door of the guest room. I sat up in the bed, my heart leaped into the throat.

"Come in!"

The door opened and the minute I saw his face, I knew we were in trouble. I stood up, ready to vomit again.

"What's wrong?"

I asked, my voice didn't even sound like it belonged to me. Chance grabbed my hands and looked me in my eyes.

"Listen to me, lock your door and don't come out until I say so alright?"

I nodded my head, unable to produce any words. He's here. Oh my god, he's here.

"Is everything okay?"

I squeaked. Chance let go of my hands and pushed at the door, I good see the fear in his eyes. I wanted him to tell me the truth, but it was obvious he wasn't capable of that right now.

"Everything... Everything is going to be fine. Just stay in here and be quiet."

As quick as he had come in he was gone. I went to the door and locked it, leaning against the frame for support. My heart rate has now jumped from a two to a ten and I knew it wasn't healthy for the baby to get stressed, I can't help this. My fingertips were tingling, my head was starting to ache. He's here. How did he find me? I thought I was free... I thought it was going to be okay. As I was about to turn away from the door I heard a loud crash, like glass shattering.

No. He can't be here. I backed away from the door and bumped into the corner, curling into myself. I rested my head against my knees and I prayed. Outside I could hear yelling, no, screaming, banging, more glass shattering. I clapped my hands over my ears as regretful tears spilled into my lap. When I looked up, I saw the door knob jiggling. My hands fell way from my ears, I felt all the blood drain out of my face.

"Come out of there Angel face, we've played this game log enough. It's time we end this.
