“Fade!” Katrina called out, vaulting over the fence, and slipping through the door. He cut a tall figure as he stalked through the hallways, his feet stabbing into the ground at every turn. His shoulders were hunched, and his head hung low.

Fade turned at her footsteps. “You should work on less noisy footfalls,” he muttered, keeping his eyes directed at the floor.

“Yeah,”

Fade twisted on his heel, peering deep into her eyes, his eyes pools of warm chocolate. “You know that I don’t mean that, right?”

Katrina held his gaze firmly. “Of course.” her skin tingled lightly as his hand ran over her bare forearm.

“You have to prove yourself, Hawk,” he said.

Fade stepped closer. His breath smelled of peppermint, and his eyes glowed with admiration.

He leaned forward, and brushed his lips to Katrina’s. To Katrina, it was gentle, but captivating, a mixture of sweetness and salty ocean water. Katrina and Fade's lips pressed together time after time transporting her to another world, filling her with hot ecstasy. Ragged breathing and dancing tongues brought a fiery heat to the cold air, warming Katrina. With just Fade there, the whole world seemed to disappear. Katrina became lost in a sea of love, a spicy combination that sent waves of passion over her. As Fade's lips pulled away, a gentle breeze fluttered over the flame, extinguishing the desperate heat. The intensity had washed away. The rest of the world was slowly coming back into focus.

“We shouldn’t have done that,” Fade whispered. His dark eyes hardened into icy chips of flint. He turned on his heel, and ran, slamming his door behind him, leaving Katrina, shivering and confused, alone in the middle of the hallway. She stood there stolidly, unmoving before the dam broke and tears flooded down her cheeks.
