There was always the prospect of an assassination attempt at a wedding, particularly if you currently happened to be the head of the largest corporation in the world, even if this were due to a temporary power of attorney, so Samuel and Spencer discussed tactics with Pawel, Michal, and Basil before they left for the hotel. As there were only a three of them and each bore the injuries from the Skidge attacks, they invited Slepý Bobek and Bláznivý Marek to make up the numbers until Sir Percy's guards arrived. The twins, who had been lurking around for just such an eventuality, eagerly agreed to do guarding duties as long as they could carry guns, just out of scientific curiosity.

Samuel said that it would be unlikely that Katka would make any appearance so he asked the guards whether they could cook their own breakfasts, before checking the arrivals for weapons on the early shift.

"I will do it Lord Admiral Sir!" Pawel volunteered. "I am only one of real guards with two totally arms. I have any experience of cooking."

"Yes Pawel is good cooker!" Michal said.

Samuel chuckled to himself when he heard what Pawel was really thinking behind his spoken words, Pawel's real motive was to get a larger than usual breakfast.

"But should you be standing for such a long time?" Samuel asked. "because I hear that you are not fit for washing up duties?"

"But my brother is very good cooker Lord Admiral sir and I could support him if he need to lean on some one more stable!" Michal said, Pawel shot him a look that meant what the hell do you mean by such comment. "He is great cook because he is so greedy... like pig. Strumpet!"

"I need no stability from you! Strumpet!" Pawel asserted.

"That's good!" Samuel laughed."So we can add you to the team that will be washing up then!"

Pawel sighed like the air escaping from a hot air balloon, knowing that once again, Samuel had out manoeuvred him, and that he had sealed his own fate by his big mouth.

Slepý Bobek and Bláznivý Marek volunteered to serve the breakfasts because both had decided to watch the cooking process very closely, in the interest of science of course because it would allow them to time every operation.

The next morning all of them got up early in anticipation of the arriving guests. Later Sir Percy's guards could take over.

"Hey that food is for wedding!" Michal pointed out indignantly as Pawel helped himself to a stack of ingredients from the cupboards.

Pawel looked pleadingly at his brother. "Is wedding day we simply starting early you strumpet and we are invited!" Pawel pronounced.

Michal just shrugged. "OK when you put it like that!"

Pawel waved a spatula as if he were conducting an orchestra, happily breathing in the intoxicating aroma of the sizzling food and kissing his fingertips in anticipation of the taste. He closed his eyes momentarily so that he could hear the squeaks and pops from the cooking food.

"Just listen to this food cooking!" Pawel said. "I can't remember last time we had such a breakfast!"

The food was a wonderfully sustaining meal of fresh fried eggs, local bacon, fried fresh tomatoes and fried mushrooms complete with a side salad and a sprinkling of parsley.

Michal made a point of naming each of the components in Slavik as they were being cooked for Basil's benefit. Pawel was a remarkably good cook, timing everything to perfection, of course, most men that like food sooner or later learn to cook.

"čerstvy vejce!" Michal said pointing to the fresh eggs.

"Churst vee vay sa!" Basil repeated. "Fresh eggs!"
