Chapter 2

Donghyuck entered his math class with his head low, he didn't want Mark to notice that he walked in. Of course he liked him but he was just nervous that he'll say something stupid or do something stupid around him. He doesn't want to ruin a relationship they barely even had. He tried speed walking to the back of the class until the person who he thought wouldn't notice him or at least he didn't want to be noticed by this person, noticed him. It was none other then Mark, obviously.

"Hey Donghyuck." Mark greeted.

Donghyuck mentally prepared himself.

"H-hi Mark I didn't see you there."

Mark smiles.

"Of course you didn't, you walked in with your head low and you were speed walking by me." He chuckles.

Donghyuck just smiles, he's to nervous to laugh that's one and two he's afraid that his laugh would scare Mark away. It was kind of an out of this world laugh, if you asked Chenle he would be able to tell you about it in a heartbeat.

"Why don't you come sit next to me, this seat is empty."

Donghyuck nods but on the inside he's freaking out. However, he just tries to act normal and grabs a seat next to Mark.

"Good morning class." The teacher greets and the class greets back afterwards.

"I have an announcement to make, as you know we are nearing the end of the unit Pythagorean Theorem. So I've decided to give you guys an important project that'll be worth half of your grade. This project is basically just to show what you've learned in this unit, it's like now you'll be teaching me."

Donghyuck gulps, he sucks at math and this unit happens to be his worse. He's struggled so much with it. Mostly because his focus has been on Mark most of the time but he didn't want to use that as the reason to why he didn't understand it.

"However, this isn't going to be an independent project it is going to be a partnered project. It's great for you guys to work in pairs because if one of you guys get stuck the other can help out so you won't give up on completing it. As for partners, whom ever you are sitting next to today shall be your partners." Mrs.Choi continues.

Donghyuck was happy that it'll be a partnered project since he struggled with it and could have help but now that he has Mark his mood just completely changed. Not that he wasn't happy to be working with his biggest crush it's just Mark is the main cause to why Donghyuck can't function right, how would he be able to complete it without getting distracted. He sighs and puts his hands through his hair.

"Looks like we will be partners for this project." Mark said.

Donghyuck nods.

"Y-yes we will."

He turns around to see a winking Chenle in the back of the room and doing soundless screaming to show his excitement for his best friend. Donghyuck just chuckles.

"What's up with your friend?" Mark asks curiously after seeing Chenle's actions.

"O-oh it's nothing."

Mark just nods while his eyebrows were furrowed together, he was confused.

"Chenle what am I to do? Mark is my partner and he's the reason why I can never focus, how am I gonna get this project done?" Donghyuck asks more like panics.

"What am I to do about that?"

"Help me you big idiot." Donghyuck says a bit too loud that practically everyone in the Cafe were starring at the two young boys.

"Oh yeah that, well just play it cool and see what happens. You never know until you try." Chenle says just stuffing his face with his favorite chocolate danish.

"Can I hit you in the head with my math book now?" Donghyuck sighs.

"Heeeeey why would you do that to your best friend?" Chenle fakes a pout while licking the chocolate off of his fingers.

"Because my best friend is an idiot!" Donghyuck face palms himself. He just didn't know what to do and Chenle wasn't helping at all.

"EXCUSE ME????!!! I have you know that I am good at every subject okay. I got A's in all of my classes. So watch your mouth mister or I will cut you with this plastic knife."

"You are good at everything except for advice." Donghyuck sulks in his seat.

"I tried, what was so wrong with the advice that I gave you?"

"You told me to me to play it cool and to just try but how can I do that Chenle? Mark is my ultimate crush it's going to be extremely hard."

"Okay fine, how about you just do your project over the phone with Mark then? That way you won't get distracted with him being so close to you while you two are working."

Donghyuck then smiles.

"That's a great idea, I will ask him for his number and we can work on the project on the phone. Oh thank you so much Chenle!" Donghyuck stretched over the table to give his best friend a hug.

"Yeah, yeah. No problem! Soooo.."

"So?" Donghyuck raises his eyebrow slightly curious about his friend.

"Are you gonna eat that donut you got there?" Chenle licks his lips.

"Excuse you, of course I'm gonna eat it. I'm not that happy with you to give you my strawberry donut."

"Aish."

"Never mess with a guys best friend."

"A guys best friend?"

"Yup, strawberry!" Donghyuck says full of excitement.

Chenle just laughs.

"You are such a girl."

"Am not!"

"Are too.."

"Okay well you are also a girl. You are the most feminine one in our sqaud!"

Chenle pouts.

"Yeah, don't you mess with me." Donghyuck smiles.
