*Stella's P.O.V.*

I was seated down during the council meeting, "This session has been called to resolve a troubling matter. James T. Kirk. step forward." The head of council says, I look back at Spock to see him annoyed, he looks back at me making me smile weakly at him.

"Cadet Kirk, evidence has been submitted to this council suggesting that you have violated the ethical code of conduct pursuant to Regulation 17.43 of the Starfleet code." The head of council says as the cadet walks forward, "Is there anything you care to say before we begin sir?" he adds, the good looking cadet says "Yes, I believe I have the right to face my accuser directly."

I roll my eyes and know that Spock has gotten up "Walk forward please." the man says, Spock does as he's told giving me a pointed look to keep my mouth shut. I groan lowly and watch as my older brother walks to the free podium "This is Commander Spock. He is one of our most distinguished graduates. He's programmed the Kobayashi Maru exam for the last four years. Commander." the head of council says, Spock faces the council members and says "Cadet Kirk managed to install and activate a subroutine in the programming code thereby changing the conditions of the test." I smile proudly at my brother as the cadet asks "Your point being?"

"In academic vernacular, you cheated." the head of council says, "Let me ask you something I think we all know the answer to. The test itself is a cheat isn't it? I mean you programmed it to be unwinnable." Cadet Kirk states, "Your argument precludes a no-win scenario." Spock says as if he had read my mind. "I don't believe in no win scenarios." the Cadet says, I look at him, knowing the end of my lips are going up making me smile a bit.

"Then you did not only violate the rules, you also failed to understand the principal lesson." Spock says, "Please enlighten me." Kirk says, I stifle a giggle by clearing my throat, "You of all people should know, Cadet Kirk, a captain cannot cheat death." Spock says, I look at my brother astonished at his words as everyone starts to whisper and mumble things, I start getting up slowly glaring at my brothers back furiously.

"I of all people?" Kirk says looking down to the podium, "Your father, Lieutenant George Kirk, assumed command of his vessel, before being killed in action?" Spock says, I bite my tongue and stare at him "I don't think you like the fact that I beat your test." Kirk contradicts, "Furthermore, you have failed to divine the purpose of the test." Spock says calm as always, "Enlighten me again." Kirk says, now sounding angry "The purpose is to experience fear, fear in the face of a certain death. To accept that fear, and maintain control of oneself and one's crew. This is a quality expected in every Starfleet captain." Spock says.

I hear the door open but continue with my eyes trained on the two men standing at the front, "Excuse me sir." a guard says as he hands the head of council a pad, he looks at the board and his eyes go wide and says "We've received a distress call from Vulcan." I gasp and stand up immediately as he continues "With our primary fleet engaged in the Laurentian system, I hereby order all cadets to report to Hangar 1 immediately. Dismissed." I stay in my place frozen in fear of might have happened.

Spock walks to me and quickly leads me to Hangar 1, all around us cadets are being called to all the U.S.S. ships when Nyota approaches us looking quite annoyed "Commander a word." she says "Yes Lieutenant." "Was I not one of your top students?" Nyota asks, "Indeed you were." Spock says "And did I not on multiple occasions demonstrate an exceptional aural sensitivity and, I quote, 'an unparalleled ability to identify sonic anomalies' in subspace transmissions test?" 

Nyota asks as walk to the shuttle "Consistently, yes." Spock answers "Ans while you were well aware that my unqualified desire is to serve on the U.S.S. Entreprise, yet I'm assigned to the Farragut?" Nyota says, I stifle a laugh and look at the two, I then walk inside the shuttle and sit down only to later be joined by Mcvoy and Kirk. "WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED TO HIM?" I screech as Kirk sits next to me, "He's sick and I'm taking him on board with me, is that a problem?" Mcvoy asks, I smile and say "Not at all, he's too cute to be left behind."
