Chpt.11 -A Sense of Relief
About an hour of driving now, and Niall doesn’t know where we’re going.
“Turn right” I warned. The car switched lanes and made a turn.
And the beauty was in our eyesight.
Boats lined up, one by one. Different colors. Blue, red, green, yellow. Every boat had a different name and personality. A different shape and contrast . A different story.
The water splashes against the red boat, that valiantly protects the smaller one behind it. The sun shines, bright for a cold October day. The breeze a bit chilly and a few clouds in the sky, but they seemed as if they had a restraining order from the sun. Peace and quiet, seagulls and waves are the only noise heard. Nothing else. Perfect. Sometimes it’s nice to be alone. Sit back, relax and think. Think about anything and everything. Relieve yourself from your own worries, to make room for new ones. Let go of all the tears you’ve been holding back, all the memories you’ve been holding back. Just let it all go. It feels amazing, to have no worries. Even if it’s just for a little while. It can fix a lot of things, you know. Just breathing. It’s kind of like when you puke. It may be yucky, but you feel a lot better afterwards.
Niall pulled into a parking space and turned off the engine.
“So, why here?” He asked me with sad eyes.
“Because I thought you might need some time to think, and this is the perfect place to do it” I said with a small smile.
He looked at me for a while, with an emotionless expression. But then his famous smirk grew on his face.
“Well, aren’t you something else” He said smiling down at me. I let out a small chuckle, trying to hide my blush from him.
“Shall we then?” I asked him. He gave me a small nod and we exited the car.

We entered the main lobby where we were sent to rent a boat. An old lady about grams age sat at the head desk. She looked up from her book she was reading. A cook book.
“Welcome, how may I help you two today?” she asked us.
“We’d like to rent a boat please” I replied.
“Well isn’t that sweet, two young lovers, going on a boat ride. Precious” she said in one of those lovey dovey voices that piss me off.
“Yup” Niall agreed. He snaked his arm around my waist, placing it right above my hip and pulled me into his chest. My heart melted.
She looked at me with twinkly eyes.
“Well here’s your boat number, your life vests, and paddles.” She said with a smile. “Have fun”
“Thanks” Niall said taking everything, not letting go of my waist.
“Really?” I said rolling my eyes.
“Oh c’mon, at least let me pretend” He said pulling me even closer and pecking me on the cheek. I took one of his paddles and smacked in the ass.
“I know you want it” he said with a wink. I chuckled and we walked over to where the boats were.
“What number are we again?” I asked Niall. “3” he replied.
I hopped into number three, and being the graceful person I am, I fell on my ass. Niall ran over and helped me up. We both looked at each other and burst into laughter.
“Like a swan” Niall taunted. I punched him playfully. I took a seat on one of the benches, and Niall began untying the rope that kept us attached to the dock.
