"So now that the grumpy drunk isn't around, what really happened with you and Luke?" Ashton questions with curiosity in his eyes. "I told you Ashton, I had to much to drink so I started to lean in to kiss him but that's when Calum jumped in to tell me we were leaving. That's all, nothing more." I tell my nosey friend. Looking back on the night it probably would have been a stupid idea to kiss Luke, at least this early in our friendship. "Do you like Luke? Does Ally actually have a crush on a guy not from a book?" Ashton sarcastically gasps causing me to playfully punch his shoulder and laugh. "I don't really know to be honest, I really just met the guy. He seems really nice though." "Just met who?" Calum asks running down the stairs, also in just boxers. As much as I dislike the guy he does have a really nice body, which catches me off guard for a second. "Well, well look who finally decided to wake up," Ashton jokes around "Fuck off, Irwin" Calum says also laughing. "Anyways, if you do like Luke, Ally, I could always hook you two up," Ashton winks. "Luke from the party last night?" Calum turns around giving us his full attention now, "Yes, Calum, not that it's any of your business, once again." "That guy seems like a major douche. Even you could do better, princess." "Excuse me?! You didn't even talk to him so who are you to judge? And I told you to stop calling me that, Cal." He just glares at me and I see his jaw tense. "Alright, you guys are both two of my closest friends meaning you will most likely be around each other a lot if you're planning on hanging out with me, so instead of constantly fighting why don't you put your energy into trying to be friends?" "Ha, as if. It'd be easier if I just didn't talk to him." "Fine, then don't. So what's our plans for today?"

After we all decided there was nothing else to do we figured we would go to the beach, because we lived in California after all and there were beaches everywhere. I texted Luke and invited him, and Ashton texted some girls he met at the party for him and Calum to hangout with. I'm not really sure where I'm expecting this little thing to go with Luke, but I'm hoping today helps me figure it out considering I don't have any alcohol left in my system and I could think clearly. I went back to my house so I could ask my parents if I could go, which they said yes to, and I began to get ready. I just twisted my hair up into a top knot bun and put on some light waterproof make-up. I'm not really that confident with my body so I immediately toss the tiny red bikini I got last summer to the side and opt for the more modest blue one I have and put on some shorts and a sweater over it. I sit on my bed and wait for Ashton to text me that their ready to go because he had to take Calum back to the house where the party was last night so he could take his car back to his house. Even though it probably isn't a big deal and I shouldn't still be thinking about it, it was still driving me crazy as to why Calum would carry me to my room. Even worse, what did my parents think when they saw some new guy they haven't met before carrying me to bed?! I really hope they were already asleep.   "Hey we're ready, come over -Ash."  I snap out of my thoughts and back to reality. I text him that I'm leaving my house now and grab my flip flops and purse. "I'm leaving, be back in a couple hours!" I yell out to my parents. "Bye honey, be careful." My mother yells back from the living room. I slide into the back seat of Ashton's car and we're off to the beach. Calum and I don't even exchange looks but I make small talk with Ashton until he finally just puts on the radio to make it a little less awkward. We finally get to the parking lot of the beach after the car ride that seemed like hours rather than 20 minutes and get out to look for our group of friends. Ashton finally sees them down by the water so we make our way over to them and I see Luke sitting alone on his phone, I should've asked Ashton to leave earlier, I forgot Luke wouldn't know anyone. "Hey!" I sit down next to Luke. "Oh hey, you guys finally made it!" Luke says and gives me a hug. He smells really good as I rest my chin on his shoulder. "Yeah, sorry about that, Ash had to take Calum back to get his car." "It's fine, you're here now," Luke smiles giving me butterflies. After we sit and talk for a while I learn that Luke reads, too and that some of my favorite books are his favorites, which obviously is another plus for him. The longer we talk the closer we get and eventually his arm is around me and I'm leaning onto him until Ashton yells out "Hey party poopers, get in the water! It's not even cold!" We both start laughing and stand up. My laughter dies out a little once I realize I have to take my sweater and shorts off. I just take them off really quick and cross my arms over my stomach hoping that Luke doesn't notice what I'm trying to do. He notices and frowns down at me, "Hey, you don't need to cover up, you're absolutely beautiful." and he takes my arms and wraps them around his torso, then just stares into my eyes for a minute and kisses me. I couldn't help but smile after we pull apart. It's definitely a crush. Then Luke takes me by surprise and tosses me over his shoulder and we run into the water. I couldn't even breath from laughing so hard, I was having so much fun with Luke and splashing each other and playfully pushing each other in to the water, until I'm distracted by the sight of Calum and that girl from the party last night, whose name I learned was Cassie, making out not to far away. He realizes I'm staring and winks at me so I shoot him my most disgusted look and turn away. What a pig.

It started to get dark so everyone packed up their things and decided it was time to leave. It had been a long day and my feet were exhausted so Luke put me on his back and gave me a piggy back ride up to Ashton's car. "Thanks for carrying me," I giggle and kiss his cheek and he blushes. "It's no problem." We finally get to the car and Luke puts me down and wraps me into his arms for another hug and kisses my cheek, "Text me when you get home," he says and I just smile and nod as he turns and leaves for his car. "Someone's clingy." Calum remarks as he throw some of our stuff into the trunk of the car. "Shut up Calum, at least I wasn't aggressively making out with some slut for everyone to see." and to that he just laughed and we all got into the car. I'm sitting in the back seat when an idea dawns on me, maybe I could pretend to fall asleep just to see if Calum carries me again, just because I'm curious. I slowly lea my head on the window again and shut my eyes. I notice we're at my house when we go over the bump and Ashton stops into my drive way. "Dammit, she fell asleep." I hear Ashton's voice. "Does she always fall asleep in your car?" Calum questions. "Not usually, but it's fine I'll just bring her in-" "No it's fine I got it" I hear what I'm pretty sure is Calum's voice, which again shocks me. "Um alright.." I hear Ashton respond confused, that makes two of us. And just like that I'm being wisped up into Calum's arms and carried to my room again. I wait until I hear my door shut close and I sit up and furrow my eyebrows. Why would he volunteer to carry me to my room for the second time? Nothing that this boy does makes any sense to me.  I get lost in my thoughts until I hear my phone buzz in my purse. It's a text from Luke and it says "Hey Ally, I had a lot of fun today, would you maybe want to go on a proper date with me next friday? :-)" And I smile uncontrollably. "Of course, I can't wait. See you next weekend, goodnight." I respond and change into my pajamas and fall asleep with a smile on my face.
