Lily's point of view...

My eyes shot open. I looked around and saw I was in a plain white room. Oh great. The infirmary. I moaned.

I tried  sitting up. Bad idea.

A hiss escaped my clenched teeth and I clutched my stomach. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," I heard a sweet and familiar voice say. I looked to my side and saw Matthew in a chair beside my bed with tired eyes.

He set his hand on my shoulder and had me lean back down. Another hiss escaped my clenched teeth once I was laying back down. I shut my lips tightly and starred at him.

He gave me a small smile. He was stroking my hair like you might do to calm down a child.

"Where is Adam?" I croaked. He stiffened. "He was healed and returned to his room." He said in a soothing yet harsh tone, "You should be more worried about yourself. You have three broken ribs and your stomach is torn." He said with a guilty frown.

"Have you been here all night?" I whispered. He nodded. "Oh my God Matthew! You should have just gone home after you left Adam here!" I gasped and reached toward his face where he had shadows under his eyes. "I dozed off a couple times." He said with a smile at my touch. "Besides your my mate, of coarse I wouldn't leave you."

I touched the shadows under his eyes with a frown. "It's fine." He murmured. I shook my head. No it definitely was not okay. I was worried about him. I was not suppose to feel this way. Not at all. I sighed. I quickly dropped my hand from his face and looked away.

"What's wrong?" He asked, and it hurt to hear the worry In his voice. I didn't say anything. "Lily?" He pulled my chin so that I was looking at him, "What is wrong?" He demanded. I debated, Should I tell him? I came to the conclusion that I should.

"It's just... I shouldn't feel this way. I've spent my life hating the idea of love an  then you come along all-" I stopped myself from finishing the sentence. "along all...?" He waited. I blushed a deep red and stared at my hands. "Coming along all amazing and sweet and devoted and I only met you a day ago and..." I felt tears start to well up and I don't know why. "And...?" He said softly. "And nothing. I don't deserve anyone so amazing." I sighed, the tears now flowing down my cheeks.

"Look at me." he said sternly. I don't want to though... "Lily look at me." he repeated in the same tone. I looked up at his face. It was constricted. "Your wrong. I am the bad one. I did not help you. I should be the one hurt. I should have insisted on protecting you. But I didn't." His face held personal rage.

He was mad at himself for not protecting me?  "You are so stupid." I smiled. I raised my hand to his face and touched his cheek. His face smoothed instantly at my touch but he did not smile. "How could you feel so guilty when I'm the one who was not being careful? I asked you to bring Adam to the infirmary. And instead of saying no like I know you wanted to, you listened to me. And that is more than I could have asked for,"

This time he did not say anything. "I'm not going to die now go home," I smiled. He just shook his head. "What am I going to do with you?" I asked.

He smiled a little. "You know, if I could sit up I would kiss you." I laughed. "That does remind me of something." he said with a smile. "What would that be?" He bent down and gently pressed his lips to mine in a kiss.

I heard someone clear their throat. Matthew pulled away with a smug expression. I looked up and saw my three sisters with a thing of roses. Shit. My cheeks started to burn and I could hear Matthew laughing. I quickly covered my face with my sheets completely embarrassed.

"You knew they came in didn't you?" I said accusingly. He laughed and said, "Maybe a little."

"Okay go home take a shower, my sisters are here, I most likely won't die." "Oh yes that makes me feel reassured." he rolled his eyes. "Just go. You need to sleep, I'll see you later." I said with my hands across my chest. "Alright alright, your a lot different than that blushing girl on the dance floor. Much more bossy." he tsked. "See you love." he bent down and kissed my forehead. Automatically my cheeks heated up again.

I heard him laugh and the shutting of a door. It was silent for a few more moments when Alyssa spoke up. "That's your mate isn't he?" I nodded in response. "I-it's been a crazy two days." I began coughing awkwardly. "You okay?" Logan came up to my bed and hugged me. "Of coarse. I just broke a few ribs," I shrugged. "They'll be better in hmm a day or so." We werewolves healed 10x faster than humans did, which was great if your accident prone like I am.

"I'm sorry." Logan said still hugging me. I pet her head and said, "I've already been told that a thousand times this morning. it was just me being an idiot no one can apologize for that." I smiled warmly. "Your a lot nicer when you have a mate." She smiled.

"Yeah don't push your luck." "Excuse me please..." The pack doctor pushed his way through to my side. "Excuse me but you'll have to leave I need to inject her with pain medication." I cover my face. "I'm not here."  they laugh and my sisters each gave me a hug and give me my roses before leaving.

Once I get the shots, I become tired and eventually pass out with a smile
