Confused Love

Chapter 3: Dylan

Today is a big day for me. I'm going to talk to Royalty after 3 or 4 years. She's the most beautiful girl at school. I need help with calculus and I could use her help since she's in honors.

While walking to my first class, I notice her and Ronaldo walking together. Both of them looked at me but kept walking. I blushed a little after we walked pass each other. She's just so beautiful in my eyes.

I'm sitting in class and all that I can think about is what could go wrong when asking her to tutor me. Since she has a boyfriend, I'm not sure if she'll accept.

After getting lost in my thoughts, I snap out of it and realize that Mrs. Boothe is passing out the test I did not study for. Since this is the calculus class I need help with, I struggle through the test but I give it my best shot.

Finally, the class is over and I make my way to my next class then lunch. I walk over to Royalty's table and sit next to her. She looked confused but still smiled. I asked her about tutoring me and she agreed to it. We live near each other, so I can just walk there. It made me feel so happy and tingly.

Once the bell rings, both of us walk to our psychology class together. She usually sits with her friend, Destiny but she sat by me today. Luckily, Destiny has more than one friend in this class, so it worked out.

We're told to partner up and ask each other what we're thinking about. Surprisingly, Royalty grabbed my arm to ask to be my partner. I laughed a little and agreed.

She asks me what I'm thinking about. I'm really thinking about her but I just tell her Papa John's pizza. She laughed and it made me smile. While talking and laughing, I notice her eyes glance out door when the second lunch bell rang. She looked happy then concerned. I ignored it and continued with the assignment.

"Royalty, what are you thinking about?" I asked.
"My gift to Ronaldo. Our anniversary is coming up and I already have his gift," she answered happily.
"What's the gift?"
"I can't tell you. I want it to be a surprise for everyone."
"Oh okay."

After about 10 minutes, Mr. Wright asked for our attention and we listened. He wanted us to see how just telling people about what's on our minds can create conversations that leads to other conversations. Everyone started smiling when they realized it. I didn't smile because of what he said. I smiled because Royalty's joy makes me happy.

By the end of the day, I ride the bus home since my mom needed my car this week. It wasn't too long of a ride but it gave me time to think about everything that happened today. I made her smile.

I'm finally home and I make myself a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It's my favorite cereal so I get through it fast. Once I'm done eating, I go upstairs and do my homework. It wasn't too hard but it still took some time to complete.

After a few hours of doing nothing, it was time for dinner so I ate then came back upstairs to shower and get ready for bed. I had a long day and I'm about to have a long sleep. Goodnight Royalty.
