Some time later, Talis woke, groggily rolling off of his bed. He was forlorn at the fact that no longer will the sun rise on the horizon, no more dawn, no more twilight. He did not know how long he had been asleep, after there is no time for the Timeless.

As he looked around himself, he noticed the room, as with everything else on the plane of Nonexistent Existence, it was lit with a dim, ethereal light. It was a very plain room, with stone wall like that of the exterior. The bed was a simple one too; a clean white pillow, a grayish cover, all held up by a wooden frame. It was not quite the room he expected considering the title he now held, but it was good enough. After all, he didn't need much.

He decided he ought to go and look for me. He found me, not long after, in my office, an old book in my hand.

"Ah, Talis, you've awoken at last," I said.

Talis nodded, "About that, I would have figured that I'm incapable of sleep, now that I'm a Timeless."

"No, you are not incapable," I explained, "it simply makes no difference now whether or not you do. You may sleep forever or never again, neither would affect you."

A thought finally jumped into Talis' head, one that you yourself may have already had, he asked, "What happened to Quicksilver and Mutt? They completely escaped my mind, after all that's happened."

"They are in your room Talis."

He looked at me puzzled, "But I was just there, the room was empty."

"Empty in your eyes yes, you've yet to don the signet ring of the Immortalis. Then, yes then, you will see what is truly there. As I said before Talis, not all is always as it seems."

"And where is this ring? Don't tell me there is some grand quest to fetch it in which to prove myself."

I laughed, "No, no, we are due soon in the Great Hall for the ceremony."

"One other thing, you say you record all happenings, is that of the Timeless as well?"

"Yes, it is."

"Is my life being recorded now?"

"Of course not, that's preposterous, how could I, I am here with you now aren't I?" Although you know the true answer, perhaps the truth isn't always satisfactory.

Talis halfheartedly agreed, "Best we be off then?"

"Ah, yes, we shan't keep the assembly waiting."

They left the Athenaeum not long after, merging into time with Talis not far behind, we were off.

***************************************

We arrived quite quickly, as we rose from the strands, Talis was taken aback, he had not expected the massive crowd that now stood around them. From Talis' experience, he could recognize some of the various categories of Timeless. There were workers, clad in their knightly armour. Timereapers with the intricately carved sickles. Some he did not recognize at all. There was not just humans there. Before them stood a very vast array of races. They varied from humans to a thirty-two limbed thing with the head that consisted only of five long and curved teeth that protruded out of its neck.

"It's Talis!" someone cried out.

"The new Immortalis!" cried another.

We were not far from the entrance of the Great Hall. The front door was in an octagonal shape, as it opened, each side folded into the other, in the end there was no door left, it simply vanished. The Creator stood there now, his rocky mass towering over the populace.
