Roses and Lillies
"We want to be like the roses"
Said the lillies.
So they dyed themselves red
And adjusted their shape.
Meanwhile, the roses said
"We want to be like the lillies"
So they dyed themselves white
And adjusted their height.
Little did they know,
Maybe they never heard?
They were magnificient
In their original design.
So a gentle reminder -
To love who you are;
Your individuality
Your creativity
Your difference
Your uniqueness.
Embrace it!
Don't fight it,
Nor blend it.
Without variety, the Earth
Would never produce
A splendid bouquet.
Just a field of poppies
All looking the same.
"We want to be ourselves"
Said the lillies.
"Yes, we are also content"
Said the roses.
And God smiled.
He made everything good.
He poured love into you
And put much thought into
The creation of you!
